Harmony and Steve sat on stools in the radio station’s sound stage. Their band had already set up, ready to play live. A cameraman had already done a sound check and sat outside of the room, waiting for the next break before he would record their song. Harmony’s makeup artist applied a touch more powder to her temple, then gave her a thumbs-up and left the room. Harmony brushed at the sleeves of her lilac maternity top and leaned back against the back of the tall stool, taking a deep breath. Above them, microphones connected to adjustable arms suspended from the ceiling. They could pull them closer, push them away, or move them side-to-side.
