Harmony felt the headache before she opened her eyes. She’d complained about it last night but refused to take anything for it. Now it was stronger, more insistent, and kind of vibrated from the base of her skull, making her whole body feel like it was throbbing. Frowning, she slowly opened her eyes, wishing she could sleep pain-free for a little while longer. The man standing next to the couch startled her. Her heart leaped in her chest, and she let out a strangled cry. He smiled as if to reassure her. “I didn’t mean to startle you.
