I shoved the man down to the ground and took his place, wrapping my arms around his partner as we danced.
I faintly heard him over the music. “What the f**k, man?”
I ignored him.
The lady didn’t look fazed.
She smiled shyly. “Hello, handsome.”
“What’s a beauty like you doing with a loser like him?” I asked. “Surely, you could do much better.”
Her face turned a faint shade of red.
The man’s voice floated to my ears. “Hello? I’m still standing here.”
“I didn’t have any other option,” she answered, ignoring him as well. “I do love a man who takes what he wants. But that’s not how most men around here behave.”
I smiled, then swirled her around once. “Then you’ve been meeting the wrong men.”
