“What?” I said, feeling insulted. “Do you honestly think I would do something so pathetic? For him? After what he did to me?”
“Then why are you here?” she asked again, her voice full of confusion. “Why are you living in his pack?”
“Because he forced me!” I shouted, all my anger and pain pouring out. “He rejected me when I was weak and defenseless. But then he changed his mind after he discovered how powerful my wolf really is. When I refused to take him back, he threw me in a prison cell. Then he had me tortured. Then he dragged me here and forced me to be his personal maid!”
“Oh, Jane...” June whispered, her eyes filling with tears.
“I didn’t choose any of this!” I continued, my voice breaking. “I don’t want to be here. I don’t even want to look at his face ever again!”
