Chapter 9

~Ellie~

I was shaking.

Julian.

Why was he here!? How did he find me! I held onto Jasper's hand tightly.

"J-Julian." I stammered.

"You know him Ellie?" James asked me.

"Y-Yes, he's the Queen's personal maid." I whispered, Jasper let out a low warning growl, followed by James doing the same. Caroline came and wrapped her slender arms around me, as Jasper and James stood before us.

"State your business." Jasper ordered.

"I-I'm not here to hurt Ellie, I'm hear to w-warn her." He shook at the sight of the most powerful Alpha in our lands. Warn me, of what? I stuck my head around Jasper and looked at Julian.

"Warn me of what?" I asked him, his eyes met mine and he looked so terrified.

"The Queen knows, she knows Jasper is your mate. They are aware you guys ran away together, and she has ordered for your execution." I started shaking and a loud growl tore through the room. Jasper was now completely covering me.

"Nothing will happen to Ellie." He growled. I guess this was the more protective side of the mating bond.

"I-I don't want to kill her, I-I want to help protect her."  He said.

"We can't trust you." Jasper snapped.

"I swear, I mean no harm to Ellie, I'm quite found of her." Julian said, Jasper growled louder.

"N-not in that way sir, I dont want to steal your mate." He shook.

"Julian, why defy the queen for me?" I asked, stepping infront of Jasper.

"Remember when I first came to live with the royal family?" I nodded, I remember Julian coming to live with us well.

~10 years earlier, Julian was 9 and Ellie was 9~

"Oh Ellie!" The queen yelled for me, I ran to the main room as fast as my nine year old legs would carry me.

"Yes My Lady" I bowed slightly to her.

"This is Julian, he will be living with us, show him where the rest of you dirty people sleep." She pushed the small boy towards me. Julian had dirty blonde hair, but extremely beautiful blue eyes. The Queen laughed when he knocked me over, then she walked out.

"I-I'm sorry." He stammered.

"Don't worry, my name is Ellie." I smiled at him, he smiled slightly at me before standing up.

"I'm Julian." I showed him to the living quarters.

"The Queen is pretty mean, just do what she says and you'll be okay." I noticed he was quite skinny, the Queen didn't always remember to feed us, but the older maids would often provide us with food.

"T-thanks Ellie." He said. I pulled some bread out form my apron pocket.

"Here you go, eat it." I smiled, he stared at me before crying.

"W-whats wrong?" I asked, looking at him.

"N-noone has been so nice to me before, thank you." He said before eating his slice of bread.

~Present day~

I smiled slightly "The bread." I said, looking at him,

"To this day, noone has showed me such kindness, and that's why I want to protect you." He said.

"We cant be sure." Jasper said, protectively.

"I can, Julian wont hurt me." I was sure, that Julian would allow no harm to come to me. I convinced Caroline to allow him to stay. Jasper and James had left shortly after, going to get in contact with the pack mates back home and bring them to us, we know a war is on its way, and we needed to be prepared. I tried to relax with Caroline and Julian, but my mind would not settle.

"It'll be okay." Caroline touched my hand lightly, her words offered some comfort.

"I am so happy you found your mate Ellie." Julian smiled.

"I am happy too, but at what cost Julian, this will start a war." I said, looking forward.

"The cost is your love and happiness, Jasper wants to be with you Ellie." I smiled at that, and then blushed remembering our encounter in the bedroom earlier. I'm scared , but I knew I was not only fighting for my life but for my love.

"I thought I would never find him Julian, I thought love was not possible for people like you and me." I said to him. Julian nodded at me. I leaned against Julian and sighed, if anyone in this world understand my pain, it was him.

"Love is possible for all Ellie, and no matter what happens, I will fight to protect you." He said, leaning his head against mine. I found comfort in knowing that Julian was ready to help us.  I fell asleep like this and awoke hours later, the room felt to hot and to full, I opened my eyes slightly.

Infront of me stood Jasper, James, Julian, and about 6 other men I did not recognize.

"You're awake baby." Jasper said, I blushed at the nickname, and he leaned down to kiss me.

"Who are these people?" I asked, looking around at all the eyes that where on me.

This is Jason, Mike, Sam, Jacob, Elijah, and Lucas, my pack members." He gestured to each man standing there. They all nodded towards me.

"Boys ,this is my mate and your future Luna, Ellie." He said, Picking me up. They nodded at me again, looking pleased.

"Now boys, you know what must be done, Im taking Ellie to our bedroom." He carried me in and set me on the bed.

"So what now?" I asked.

"The boys will take turn keeping watch, they will alert me if anything is to happen, or if anyone is to show up." I sighed softly, all this unnecessary safe and danger for me

" I'm sorry Jasper, I'm sorry you have to go through this because of me." I teared up.

"Ellie, don't you dare apologize, I found my mate and the love of my life with you." He wiped my tears before continuing.

"I will never regret this, or you, I want you more then anything in this world. Before you Ellie, I never wanted a mate, or anything of the sorts. When I met you, my world changed, and suddenly you were keeping me here, I knew I would protect you. I will fight for you, and for our love, no matter what Ellie." He said kissing me softly. I believed in Jasper,  I believed in his love for me. I knew no matter what, we would make it through this.
