I felt like I spent so much of my time now hunting down who was killing Lycans. We had lost two members of the pack this year, and it wasn't even July yet. I was getting frustrated. I also couldn't help but wonder what in the world Amara had gotten herself into. I had promised not to look into whoever the man who slapped her was, but I wouldn't stop looking for the man who broke into her apartment.
It was a conversation she refused to have. I knew it was a touchy subject, and I did my best to shy away from it. I didn't want to rock the boat. Recently, she had been asking me to stay over more often than not. I was too deliriously happy to be spending any time with her to risk anything that might get in the way.
