He got the hand out that was hidden in his hoodie, raised and pointed his gun at her and fired. With wide eyes, Alisha pushed Mira towards the lockers just as Colin fired the bullet. Alisha attempted to move before the bullet hit her but it did manage to graze her arm and go through the glass behind her, shattering it. Chaos ensued. In that chaos, Alisha lost track of Mira. She saw Colin recoil with wide eyes and back away from there. He turned and ran and she got up, holding her bleeding arm to follow him. ~ Mira couldn't find Alisha in the crowd, so she ran to get help. On her way out, she collided with Alex. "Mira!" He gasped, holding her by the arms. "You okay?" Tears were flowing down Mira's cheeks. "Alisha..." "What happened to her!?" Fear spread in his veins. "I can't...she was with me and Colin fired and I can't...I can't find her, Alex!" She cried out. With fear gripping every single inch of him, he said. "It's okay, I'm going to find her. You get out and make sure the others are fine." She could only manage a nod as she ran out to check if the others were alright. Alex pushed through crowd, going in the opposite direction of everyone else. God, please let her be okay. ~ "Why is everyone running?" Christina asked out loud to Joey as both of them stood in middle of the crowd getting pushed by people that passed by them. "Dude, half of our school is crazy." Joey snorted. Christina was shocked. "No, Joe. Why are they running like they saw a guy with a gun?" "Run!" Colt came towards Christina and Joey. "There's a guy with a gun in the school. And he already shot someone, apparently!" "Well, what do you know? There actually is a guy with a gun." Joey muttered. "Where's Mira?" He asked. They shrugged in response. "I'm going to go get her. You guys head out as fast as you can. Okay?" He asked, backing away. They nodded their heads and joined the crowd as Colt ran back in. ~ "Satuki! Secure the children and inform the parents and police!" Rimkus, the principal, screamed, panic in every inch of her system. This was an unusual occurrence for them. It had never happened in the history of the school. Chaos surrounded the campus as teachers tried getting the children out of the building and on to the football field. Christina and Joey waited impatiently for the others and after a while, they spotted Colt and Mira running out of the crowd. "You guys okay!?" Christina gasped as they ran towards them. "Yeah," Colt nodded. "But we couldn't find Alex and Alisha." "What!?" Joey screamed. "We have to go back for them!" "No one is going back in!" Durham, the football coach, screamed, overhearing their conversation. "But, sir, our friends are stuck back in there!" Mira cried. "Then the police will handle it." He glared. He forced the four of them to join the other students who were giving statements to the police who had arrived and had secured the campus. No one was allowed to go in or out and the only people stuck inside were Alisha and Alex with Colin. ~ "Colin! Colin! Wait!" Alisha screamed as she ran in the now deserted hallway, running after Colin. She saw him run into the cafeteria. Luckily, the cafeteria doors didn't have any locks and before Colin could latch an object through the handles, she got in after him, leaning against the door. "Colin! There's no where to go now." Alisha heaved, still holding her arm, moving forward. He looked at her tearfully, pointing the gun at her." I'm not going to get caught!" "Look, no one's getting caught-" She was cut off by the cafeteria door swinging open and Alex coming in. Colin's aim shifted to him. Alex raised his hands in surrender. "Move back! Both of you!" He screamed, making them move to the other side as he took a rod and latched it through the handles. Alex's eyes collided with Alisha's. Her orbs showed the pure emotion of gratefulness and his showed anger as his eyes snapped to her bleeding arm. Both their arms were up and they kept staring at each other, as if having a conversation. "Get far away from me!" Colin screamed, pointing the gun at them, making them take few more steps back. "And slide me your phones and bags!" "Colin, listen, we can get through this, okay? Just, please, put the gun down." Alisha whispered, as she did what she was told, Alex following her. He glared at her. "Don't make me shoot you again." Something shot through Alex's chest. Pain. At hearing Colin's words. If only he could've been there to prevent it. "Colin, please. Don't do this." Alisha pleaded. Alex was standing beside her, anger seeping through him as he looked at Colin. "I have to do this." Colin trembled. "No, you don't. This is not you, Colin. This is not the Colin I know." Alisha shook her head. He laughed humourlessly. "That's the thing. You don't even know me, Alisha. Stop pretending like you do." Her chest hurt at his words. "Please, Colin." "Okay, if you want to do this," Alex jumped in. "Please, let me stop her bleeding first." Colin narrowed his eyes at him. "You shot her, Colin. I don't think you want her to suffer any more than she has." Alex glared. "The bullet just grazed her." Colin breathed. "But it's still bleeding, isn't it?" Alex raised an eyebrow. Colin thought about it and nodded. Breathing a sigh of relief, Alex turned towards Alisha and set her down on a chair. Colin dragged chairs from the tables and built a barrier between him and them. He didn't want them anywhere near him, trying to stop him. Alex crouched in front of Alisha who was looking at him carefully. "You came after me." She whispered so that Colin wouldn't hear them. He nodded, as he touched her arm and inspected the wound. "Why?" He sighed. "Alisha, you stupid brown girl, I like you. Even more than that, probably." "Probably?" She gave a small smile. He smiled. "No, definitely." He shook his head as he tore a part of his shirt and wrapped it around her arm, trying to stop the bleeding. She didn't say anything but only watched him. He looked angry and...scared. "Hey, don't worry about me, okay? We'll get through this." She whispered, placing a hand on his cheek. He sighed and nodded. He turned his head towards Colin, who was busy building a barrier between them and him. "Just in case." He muttered and without warning, grabbed her by the hair and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Their lips moulded perfectly as her hand latched on to his hair and his moved to cup her face. She was consumed in the kiss, as was he. Even though it was short, it made them feel like nothing in the world mattered except that moment and nothing but that moment was keeping them alive. It was simply the best short kiss of their life. He pulled away all too quickly, given the circumstances, and rested his forehead against hers. "I couldn't die without knowing how that feels." He whispered. "You're not going to, anyway." She said, determined. They both broke apart to the sound of a chair crashing against the wall behind them. They jumped up to see Colin in a fit of rage. "God dammit!" He cried out and shot a bullet through the ceiling. "Colin, just calm down! Colin!" Alisha screamed as she got to her feet and moved towards him. He looked at her with hurt and fury. "Just when I thought I could give you a chance, you go and kiss him!" "Colin, please! Get a hold of yourself!" Alisha begged. Colin breathed heavily. "Do you like breaking my heart over and over again, you sadistic b***h!?" She flinched at his words and Alex clenched his fists, but resisted going through the barrier and smashing him right in the skull. He couldn't risk Alisha like that. "No, Colin! It's not like that. Please, just listen to me. Please!" Alisha's eyes glazed. Colin slumped and chuckled darkly, looking at her coldly. "You're one of the reasons this is happening, Alisha. I hope you realise that and I hope you live with that for the rest of your life." The words shocked her and absorbed into every inch of her soul. It was all her fault. All her fault. All her fault. Rest of her life. The words kept ringing in her head as flashes of her memories rushed back into her brain. She was one of the reasons. She brought it on. She broke his heart. And She was going to have to fix it. ------------------------------
