"Just pull it up a bit!"
"I am trying!"
"No, you're not. Just pull it up more!"
"I am f*****g trying!"
"Okay, Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!" He screamed, quoting Ross of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., as they tried to get it out of the small gate.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" She screamed back, quoting Chandler.
They both burst out into a fit of laughter, setting the bike down. They were trying to get Alex's bike out the small back gate of the school, which was inbuilt the huge metal gates, but were failing miserably. So much for being an expert at ditching school.
"We've got to get it out fast! Before the guard comes." He warned.
"Thank you, Captain obvious!" She rolled her eyes making him roll his eyes too.
"Let's try it one more time." He sighed and on three, they lifted the bike out and after a lot of pivoting, they got it out.
"Ugh, finally! Yes!" Alex fist pumped.
"Calm down, sugar rush." Alisha rolled her eyes but was smiling anyhow.
"Now let's get going!" He clapped his hands, ignoring her comment, and they both sat on the bike and took off into the.....flying dust off the road.
~
"Oh my god! I have never been to a place like this before! Thank you, Alex. Thank you so much for taking me to a sports showroom. It's just too much for me." Sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"Shut up." He scoffed. "We just need to pick up some stuff before we head off."
Her eyes narrowed. "Head off to....where?"
"To knock you out with a shovel and then bury you alive." He deadpanned.
"That's not funny." She widened her eyes.
He looked at her weirdly. "Okay...."
"Yeah, so don't ever crack a joke like that, again? Okay!? Okay." She freaked out.
"Look what the cats brought out..." He rolled his eyes making her scoff.
"What do we have to get?" She asked.
"Um...from here, we need shoes, ropes, a stick, gloves and from the hardware store we need a plastic sheet, a saw oh yeah, and water." He smirked, walking away.
"Dude..." She growled. "Not cool!"
~
He was taking her trekking.
"Trekking?" She looked up at the high mountain beyond her.
"Yeah!" He enthused.
"Math was better." She sighed.
"You're gonna love it. Believe me! By the end of it, you're going to be kissing my feet." He smirked.
~
"I am going to f*****g kill you!" She screamed.
"Calm down, we're almost there." He soothed.
"Shut the f**k up!"
"Well, someone's got P.M.S." He muttered. The sailing bottle that hit his head, sure shut him up.
~
"Are we there?" Alisha groaned after an hour and a half.
"Almost." He panted.
"Okay," He said after a couple minutes. "Close your eyes."
"What!? No. Absolutely f*****g not. You're going to kill me and then you're going to bury me and no one will find me and my bones will decompose and no trace will be left of me and you'll go off and marry some hot spanish chick and have thousands of spanish chicas and chicos whatever and my life will be over! No, my life can not be over!" She rambled.
"Alisha!" He held her by her shoulders, shaking some sense into her, looking like she has grown two heads. "Calm the f**k down!"
She took a deep breath. "Sorry....I got a bit carried away."
"Carried away? That's not how I would describe that! It was more like panicked beyond mother fuckin-"
"Okay," she cut him smoothly. "I got it. Now where were we?"
"Close your eyes."
She gave him one last 'I'll kill if you try to bury me alive' look and reluctantly closed her eyes and he placed his hand over them, grabbing her by the waist.
He led her ahead, careful not to let her fall or trip.
"Ready?" He whispered.
"Like hell." She growled.
"You sure?" He teased.
"Alejandro, I will castrate you with my bare hands if you don't-"
And she was cut off by the stunning view in front of her.
The whole town was visible. And not only that, there was a waterfall, behind of which, the whole town was visible. Mesmerising, wouldn't even begin to describe it. The wind was blowing softly, the clouds lingered over the water while the water flowed to a melodious tune making Alisha want to preserve this moment for eternity.
"Okay...you're creeping me out here. Are you going to say something?" He broke the moment.
She chuckled. "Wow."
"Wow, no smart ass comeback. I think I did myself proud today!" He smirked.
"You did." She smiled. "Thank you."
"It's no problem. This is one of the many good things of this town, but not many people know about it. So, feel privileged."
"Yeah, okay." She snorted.
"But really, do you like it?" He asked sheepishly, leaning against the wooden fence built there.
"No, I absolutely hate it." She deadpanned. "Are you kidding me? This is the most amazing place I have ever been to and believe me, I have been to many."
"Really?"
"Stop behaving like a drama queen." She smacked him making him chuckle.
"I feel like it is too beautiful to be true." She whispered, looking ahead.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." He murmured, looking at her.
~
"Friends."
"Life."
"Family."
"Mama."
"Aw, mama's boy!"
"Shut up."
"Okay...TV shows?"
"Many."
"Music."
"Guitar."
"Dancing."
"You."
"What?"
"What?" He asked back.
"When have you seen me dancing?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Um, hello?" He waved a hand in front of her. "I can practically jump into your studio through my window."
Backfire. "Oh, yeah. And you are a stalker, anyway."
They were sitting in a small diner after their little walk back down the hill, hogging like their life depended on it. After a few moments of silence, she said. "I'm good, aren't I?"
He chuckled but then shrugged. "Eh...I've seen better."
She chucked her napkin at him. "Shut up and eat your food."
His laughter made her fuzzy and smile.
~
"Are you sure about this?" She bit her lip.
"Yeah, it will be fun!" He exclaimed.
"Pucca?" She asked.
He was confused. "What?"
"I mean, are absolutely sure about it?" She keeps forgetting he doesn't speak Hindi.
"Dude, chill!" He said. "It's going to absolutely and totally awesome."
"Okay, then." She agreed.
"Okay, follow my lead." He whispered, getting out of the bushes and starting to clim on the fence. They were trying to break in the community college only to try and swim in the pool.
She climbed up behind him and he helped her down the other side, as they landed on the concrete floor to face the pool.
"Why are we doing this again?" She whispered.
"For fun."
"Because it's totally fun to trespass government property, crash the pool, get caught and go to jail. Got it." She rolled her eyes.
"Shut up and jump." He whispered, smiling.
"On three." He whispered.
"One..Two-"
"Wait!" She interrupted.
"Now what?" He groaned.
"I need to remove my shoes." She stated obviously whilst removing her shoes and socks, while he did the same.
"You know, if you want to remove any other things, I am completely okay with that." He winked.
"Only in your dreams, horny pants." Alisha rolled her eyes.
"Every one of them." He shrugged.
"Yeah, every wet one of them." She rolled her eyes.
"You know it." He clicked his tongue. "On three?"
"Nope." She disagreed. "On...one!" She grabbed his hand and they both jumped into the pool, causing a huge splash.
"Oh my god! That was so much fun!" She squealed, coming up the surface.
"I told you." He coughed, moving his wet hair out of his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah you did." She smiled.
My God, she looks stunning, thought Alex.
It is physically impossible to look that good, thought Alisha.
Their smiled wavered off as they leaned in closer. His hand slid on her waist and hers rested on his shoulders.
"Thank you." She whispered.
"For what?" He mused.
"For everything."
They both leaned in closer, noses touching when they were rudely interrupted by the door to the pool opening.
"Guards!" He screamed with widened eyes. They rushed out of the pool, grabbed their shoes and ran towards the fence.
"Freeze!" Two guards entered and screamed but were too late. They were already climbing on the fence and were out.
"Who do you think you are? The FBI!?" Alex screamed and before the guards could get a good look at them, they were off.
Laughing and dripping wet, they stopped near Alex's bike.
"That was really fun." She confessed, putting on her shoes.
"It was." He nodded, doing the same. The sun had gone down and the night had set upon them.
"I think we should head back." He said after a few moments of silence.
"Yeah. You're right." She said reluctantly. They got on the bike and headed off back home.
~
He parked in front of her house. Due to the speed of the bike, the wind had dried off most of their clothes.
"Okay, then. I'll see you." She said, getting off the bike. "Thank you, for today."
"How many times will you thank me, niña?" He smiled.
"Fine. Bye." She waved but at the last moment, she went ahead and hugged him. Surprised, he hugged her back, relishing in that moment.
"Bye." He whispered. She smiled one last time and headed back inside her house.
"Alisha, where were you!?" Her mother screamed as soon as she entered through the door.
"Chill, Ma." She rolled her eyes, removing her shoes and bag. "I was with our neighbour, Alex."
"Oh my...Alisha, you could've given me a call!" Aisha sighed.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that." She muttered half heartedly.
"It's still a new town for us and...what if something would've happened?" Aisha demanded.
"Like what, ma?" Alisha challenged her mother, looking her directly in the eye.
Her mother met her gaze, eyes glazed. "You know what I mean."
"Outside or inside the house...it doesn't matter, does it?" She chuckled humourlessly and walked dejectedly to her room.
~
"Hey! Didn't think you'd come today." Alex exclaimed as he saw Alisha walk over the ledge towards him.
"You would wish." She rolled her eyes, sitting beside him.
They sat in comfortable silence as Alex played his guitar, filling the atmosphere.
Alisha was thinking of him. Even though she hated it, she had to admit that she was starting to like him....more than a friend. Much more.
Alex looked at her. She looked so peaceful with her eyes closed, hearing him play. He had to admit...He liked his chica more than he realised. Much more.
