Lovers On The Sun.

The party was in full swing. The music was pumping, people were grinding, Greek dancers were swaying like gods, and Joey was in the middle of it all, doing his chicken dance. Alisha was near the bar, laughing at Joey's pathetic attempt at dancing. He was never a one who could move to the beat. "Try this." Alex came up from behind the counter and passed Alisha a coconut with a straw in it. She looked at the drink suspiciously. "You made it?" "Yeah!" He beamed. She grimaced. "No, thanks." He pouted. "It's not going to kill you." "How the hell do I know that!?" "You really think it's going to kill you?" He controlled his smile. "It might!" She exclaimed. "Shut up and drink." He ordered with a smile. "Virgin?" She asked. "Yes, I am." He answered. She rolled her eyes. "The drink, you moron!" "Oh! Yeah, that's virgin and really awesome....just like me." He smirked. "I hope it's not as pathetic." She smirked back. Scowling, he pushed the drink more towards her. She reluctantly took a sip of it and was it like drops of heaven. It was so....yum. She resisted closing her eyes and moaning, so that he couldn't get the pleasure of gloating. "How's it?" He asked. "Not bad." She admitted. "Not bad? It's like drops of heaven and you know it." He smirked. How did he know that she was thinking that!? "Apparently, I don't." She smirked. "But it's pretty good for a virgin cocktail." He smiled. "How about a non-Virgin one?" She gave him a look as she gulped down the rest of the drink. "You know that I'm not much of a drinker." "Yeah, but try it today. Let lose, you know?" He suggested. She sighed. "The last time I 'let lose', I woke up in a ditch. So, no thank you." He chuckled as he poured a shot for himself. "You're right. Anyway, you're not bold enough to do it." This caught her attention. "Excuse me? I'm not bold enough?" "Did I say something else....?" His eyebrows furrowed mockingly. "I'm not bold enough!?" She exclaimed. "You should really get those ears checked." He suggested. "I am bold enough." She argued. He smirked. "Prove it." He pushed the shot towards her. She looked at it hesitantly. "Knew it." He gloated and grabbed the glass and poured it in his mouth. Not thinking about it once also, Alisha grabbed him by his hair and crashed her lips down to his, drinking the shot off his mouth. Slowly and seductively, devouring it. She pulled away, gulping down the burning liquid, she leaned her forehead against his, as he cupped her cheek. "Bold enough?" She breathed. He clicked his tongue. "Sexy enough." She laughed and leaned away. "Anyway, the buzz is much better this way." And with that, she pulled him from behind the counter and dragged him to the dance floor. ~ "Man, how awesome is this!? The girls are literally naked! And my hot brunette is making out with another hot brunette! This is like my dream come true!" Joey cried as he, Alex, Colt and Josh stood near the bar. "What!? Where?" Colt jumped. Joey pointed at the dance floor and indeed, the girls were making out. The four guys stared with their mouths hanging. "It's paradise." Colt breathed. "I feel ya!" Joey exclaimed. "Are they...." Alex cleared his throat. "Are they banging their coconut bikinis together?" They stared intently. "This is better than paradise!" Joey screamed. ~ Alisha was standing on the bar, dancing as the crowd cheered her on. She had already had quite a few shots down and finally, she let lose. It felt good to dance all her problems away. Soon enough, Mira and Christina joined her, Christina removing her top and chucking it at Josh's face who could only stare at his girl in disbelief. Christina, Alisha and Mira moved against each other, making the guys stare in disbelief and awe. Alisha got down the bar after a while, so did Christina. But Mira stayed up, as a hot guy climbed up too, dancing with her. That soon ended, when Colt got her down and almost smashed the guy in the skull. "How many shots did you have?" Alex asked Alisha as they came down. "Not enough to get me wasted but enough to get me buzzed." She admitted. "And how many are those?" Alex inquired. "SIX, LOVER BOY!" Christina slurred. "She had much more!" Alisha pointed her thumb at Christina. Just then, Alisha's phone vibrated in her pocket. She jumped at the feeling of it as Alex gave her a weird look. "Vibration." She explained as she saw the caller image of Karan pop up. "Karan!" She squealed and moved away from the party and towards the beach to talk to him. Alex stared at her back curiously. Who's Karan? "Jealousy problems, lover boy?" Christina giggled. "Who's Karan?" He asked her irritably, not even knowing how to pronounce such a name. "Karan? Karan is one hot dude, dude. I've seen his pictures, y'know? He is Alisha's ex-lover boy, current lover boy." Christina laughed. Alex seemed disturbed. Ex-lover boy? And a hot dude? All that coming from Christina? A drunk Christina? If there is one thing that he learnt in life, it was that always believe a drunk Christina. Always. "You feeling....disturbed, lover boy?" She teased in a fake Spanish accent. "No. I am not disturbed." Alex was adamant. He was okay with it. He too had ex-girlfriends. But none of them call him anymore. Especially not if he were to move to another country. "Denial." She chuckled. "You know...when I thought that I was a bi-s****l, which I really am, and when I would be with this guy I'm screwing and he would get a call from this girl who's picture on his phone would be really hot...I always wondered whether I should be mad at him for cheating on me or whether I should dump his ass and go to the hot girl that was calling him." "What did you do?" Alex was really interested. She smirked slyly. "I dumped his ass." ~ "Kaisi hain? (How are you)" Karan asked Alisha as she picked up the phone. "Karan! You have no idea! I am in such a cool place right now. We've been partying since morning and it's been crazy!" Alisha exclaimed. "I thought you gave up on drinking?" He was amused. "I thought I did too! But then, Alex forced me into it. You know, to let lose." Alisha laughed. "You know, the last time you let lose-" "I landed up in a ditch. I know!" She smiled. "But this time that won't happen. I can get as drunk as I want because I know that these people that I am with...won't let anything happen to me." "They sound like really good people." Karan admitted. "They are." "What did you tell Aunty and Uncle?" Karan asked. "About what?" She was genuinely confused. "About the party that you are at right now. It's six in the morning here, so there it must be six thirty in the evening. Knowing Aunty, she must be going ballistic. She always was over-protective of you." He observed. "I called them and told them that I was sleeping over at Mira's, a friend of mine." Alisha said. Karan chuckled. "What are you doing up at six in the morning?" Alisha asked. "Um, I don't know. Teri yaad mein hum soye nahi. (I couldn't sleep because I was missing you so, so much)" He joked. "Aur bolte jaa jhooth pe jhooth (you're really doing good with those lies)" Alisha smiled. He laughed. "Accha, I'm keeping you away from your party. Go and let lose." "But you know that I miss you?" She asked. "Yes." "And you know that I'll call you later?" "Yes." "And you know that I have a lot to tell you?" "Yes." "Good." "Bye, chipkali." "Bye, gaandu." She cut the call, making her way back to the party with a smile on her face. ~ "Kiss me if I'm wrong," Alisha leaned at the bar beside Alex, "But dinosaurs still exist, right?" He chuckled at her cheesy pick up line and spun around to face her, leaning in and placing a soft, long kiss on her lips. "I guess I was wrong then." Alisha smiled, biting her lip, as she pulled away. "Mostly." He agreed. She looked at him long and hard. "What?" He asked her, giving her a weird look. "I'm supposed to be doing that, you know?" "Look at yourself long and hard? How self-obsessed are you?" She rolled her eyes making him laugh. "No, I am a supposed to be the one who looks at you long and hard and you would ask me why the hell am I looking at you like that and then I would say because you're too beautiful-" "And then I would grimace and walk away." She cut him off. "Yes, actually, you would. But that wouldn't change the fact that you are too beautiful." He grinned. She tried giving him a grimace but ended up laughing instead. "Okay, you would say that because I'm the only girl who would make out with you." She snorted. He shrugged. "True." She mock-gasped and shoved him. "Jerk." He laughed. "So how about that make out session?" "Never in a million dreams." She said as she walked away, with him following her. "Aw, c'mon! I'll make you my special coca-banana drink!" ~ Alisha was standing on the shore, her toes wiggling in the sand, her hair flying against her face, the waves crashing against her feet, making her smile. As the waves pulled back from the shore, she felt like she was moving back but she was still. So still. And it felt good to be still for a moment. Not think about anything but that moment that she was in, just like she feels when she kisses Alex. Alex. Man, she didn't expect him in her life at all. She thought Ortown would be hell but he made it better. He made it all better. She wanted to be with him. She needed to be with him. "Hey." Alex said softly as he joined her. What are the chances? Think of the devil and the devil appears, thought Alisha. "Hey." She smiled back. They stared at the sunset in silence. "Doesn't it feel good to be still just for a moment?" He whispered as he closed his eyes. She looked at him with an amused smile. "It sure does." "Alex?" She asked him after a couple of heartbeats. "Yeah?" He looked at her. "I need to ask you something." She began. He waited for her to continue. She got down on both her knees, making his eyes go wide. "I'm not proposing to you!" She scolded him. She took his hand. "Alex, when I first met you, I thought you were a jerk. But then-" "No! Wait! You're stealing my thing-to-do!" He protested like a little kid. "What!?" Alisha sputtered. He got down on his knees to be at eye-level with her. "Alisha, I'm supposed to ask you to be my girlfriend, not the other way around!" "Wait, I'm not supposed to ask you to be my girlfriend?" She widened her eyes. "Stop doing that." He huffed like a kid. "I mean, I'm supposed to be the guy who asks you to be my girlfriend. You're not supposed to ask me out. So, I think I should get to do it." "Why!? Why can't a girl ask a guy to be her boyfriend? And give me a valid reason." She glared. "Because!" He couldn't come up with a better answer. "Wow, I'm convinced." She rolled her eyes. "The guy does it because when he does, he pours out all his feelings for that girl and tells her how much she means to him and that is the only moment we actually become cheesy, so..." "That's not good enough. You're cheesy all the time and what if the girl wants to say those things too?" Alisha argued. "Too bad." He snorted making her smack him. "I don't care, I'm asking you out first." She announced. "No, I am!" He protested. "Alex, I never thought that we would land up where we are currently, and I can't describe to you-" "Alisha, when I first looked at you, I thought that, Man, she's beautiful. You made me feel things that I never thought I was capable of feeling and you even made me want to lose my virginity-" "-how much you mean to me. Just the fact that you are right here with me even after knowing all about me is too much for me. You made me feel good about myself. I used to look in the mirror and see shame but you made me see myself for once-" "-which is a big deal, even though that makes me sound a bit feminine. And I want you know that there is no other person on this planet that I like more than you right now-" "-and made me realise who I am. You have made me a complete mess by making me think about you all the time and for a girl who doesn't believe in love, you're making me doubt my beliefs-" "-So, I want to ask you that-" "-So I want to ask you that-" "-If you would be my girlfriend?" "-If you would be my boyfriend?" They looked at each other with broad grins. "Yes." They said together and he leaned in, cupping her cheek as she grabbed onto his shoulders. Placing his lips over hers, his hand travelled to her hair while one to her waist. They could hear the sound of the waves crashing against them and the feel the breeze blow against their flushed bodies as their kiss filled with passion and demand. They pulled away smiling. "Best proposal ever." She admitted. "Nah, I've got better." He shrugged making her laugh as the sun set behind them. ----------------------------
