"Yuu-san! Yuu-san!!"
I heard Shinoa's voice in my ears. She was shouting desperately, but I couldn't see her. I couldn't see anything at all.
Just darkness...
The last thing I remember was falling, crashing, and then darkness.
"Yuu."
A different voice greeted me. I looked around me. Nothing. No one.
I couldn't see where it came from or what it was, but that voice had been familiar. So familiar.
"Yuu..."
Mika?
"Hyakuya Yuu. He'll wake up soon, sir."
The darkness that had surrounded slowly welcome light, and I found myself somewhere else. I was lying down on a hospital bed, Guren and Shinoa standing next to me.
There was another guy talking to Guren, too. I don't know who he is, but I guess he was a nurse. As soon as they realized I had awoken, their attention was all on me.
"Yuu-san. You're finally awake!" Shinoa said sounding a bit relieved. Guren, who had his arms crossed, looked at me with an expression mixed with relief and annoyance.
"I knew you were an idiot." He said bluntly. His comment had made me sit up and scowl, "Oi! You could at least say you're glad I'm alive!"
"Tch!" He scoffed, "Yeah. You should be glad you're alive! What kind of i***t jumps off a pedestrian bridge?"
I gritted my teeth in annoyance. But before I could make a smart remark, Guren had taken the first attack, "That i***t is Yuu!"
My voice rose in return, continuing the silly bickering Guren and I had, "You could at least be glad I'm---..." A pain came to my chest, making me groan. I touched my chest as I bit my lip.
"Yuu-san, take it easy. You're still recovering." Shinoa said quietly. Guren had seemed to calm down as well, ruffling my hair with his hand, "Rest well, i***t. We will come to visit you again."
"Tch..." I looked down at the sheets covering my legs.
Guren and Shinoa's footsteps were heard as they exited the room. I was now left alone...
"Hyakuya Yuu. A reckless case."
...with the nurse guy.
I raised my head to look at him. He had blue eyes that resembled the ocean, soft looking blonde hair wrapped in a short ponytail, and pale looking skin. His eyes were protected by thick black frames, and overall, he looked... angelic.
Wait--... what?
No. This punk just called me a restless case! H-how dare he?
"Who are you calling reckless huh?!" I scowled at him.
He sighed. The guy was holding a tray with medicine on it. "I wouldn't shout so much if I were you. Remember what happened a while ago?"
For some reason, I felt energetic. Though I was a bit annoyed by his sassy attitude, I felt my spirit being lifted up by his presence.
It was kinda... nostalgic seeing this guy. I didn't even know who he was or what his name is.
"That?" I arrogantly replied, "I have you know I--..." A sharp pain came across my chest again, "Guh!"
The nurse rolled his eyes and shook his head, "I told you so." He placed the tray on the table beside my bed, and carefully prepared the medicines.
One of my eyes closed as the pain still remained. "Hey..." I said rapidly, "When can I get outta here?"
He looked at me, a cup of syrup on his hand, "Ha?" His brow raised, "You're barely hanging on with those body pains. Do you really think you can survive out there?"
"Guh!" I grew irritated by his sarcastic attitude. My voice rose once again, "Nurses are supposed to be nice and make you feel better! What kind of nurse are you?!"
A heavy breath escaped my lips, and I held on to my chest as the pain grew more intense. My eyes did not falter from the angelic blonde nurse though. I watched him as he looked back at me with narrowed and annoyed eyes.
"What kind am I?" He said in a husky voice. Suddenly, I felt him grab my jaw, squeezing my cheeks together and my head lifted upwards.
The nurse shoved the cup filled with syrup to my mouth, forcing me to swallow in the sweet liquid.
"I am the kind who can shove this cup of medicine in your noisy mouth!"
"Mmmph!!" I squirmed, surprised. The adrenaline had made me forget all about the pain I was feeling just moments ago.
He then let go of my jaw and took the cup away from my lips. I instantly shut my mouth to guard myself against any further attacks from this maniac nurse.
I licked my lips in haste just to clean out any syrup left outside my mouth. "What the hell??!"
"Yep." He confirmed oh so suddenly, "That's right." He placed the cup on the tray and looked at me with crossed arms, "I'm one hell of a nurse!"
My eyes widened at his sentence, but I didn't let this keep me dumbfounded. I shook my head violently with clenched fists, "Oh yeah?! Well, how about I unleash hell on you?!"
"Ahuh," He said in a sarcastic tone as he took the tray from the table, "Sure you can."
"You bet I freaking will!" I rolled my sleeves up as if I was getting ready to pick a fight with this heaven-kissed nurse.
He rolled his eyes, looking disgusted with me, "Yeah yeah." He walked to the door. But before he left the room, "Oh and Mr. Hyakuya Yuu."
"Huh?" I looked at him wondering what he wanted more.
His eyes softened, but his lips still had that nonchalant feel to it, "You're welcome."
"Eh?" My brows furrowed in confusion. The nurse had left the room, and I was all alone.
'You're welcome'? For what???
I blinked and then scratched my head. Wait a minute... I...
Touching my chest, a relieving feeling came to me. He helped get rid of the pain...
A fuzzy feeling followed through my chest. It was warm and it felt a bit ticklish. I guess it's been a while since someone had shown me kindness without acting all nice and stuff.
But about him... something feels so familiar about him. His voice, his face, his air...
It's like I've seen him before.
Geh! Whatever. It doesn't change the fact that he looked down on me like I'm some kind of careless moron! That guy...
I traced the room I was in. It was a normal hospital room. All white with little to none furniture. There was a chair near my bed and a table next to it. On the table was a vase filled with flowers, which I assume was from Shinoa, and a laminated paper.
My curiosity came upon the paper resting on the table. I picked it up and read the contents. It had a table printed on it with names and time. Apparently, it was the time schedule of when the nurse guy would come to visit or check up on me.
I gazed at the paper some more.
So his next visit is lunch time, huh? Then I better get ready by then!
