Eats lots so you can fight, Yuu.
Whoever he was or what his name is... this one hell of a nurse, who comes in my room every time, really reminded of the one person I cherished.
Hyakuya Mikaela.
My Mika...
But now that I think about it, the color of his hair and his eyes, his pale skin, his face... they resembled Mika so well. It was no wonder the first time I had seen this guy, I felt a surge of nostalgia run through me.
My chest tightened at the memory of Mika. Could this nurse possibly be him? No... there was no way it was. I saw it from my very own eyes. Mika was engulfed in flames as he fought for my freedom... his sacrifice.
It was real.
I must just be imagining things. Yeah, that's right. These things must be coincidences, and I just happen to notice because of how much I miss Mika. Yeah, that would be the best explanation.
Besides...
The past encounters I've had with this nurse was... well, far from Mika. T-this guy was a demented one!! No.. shoving hard things in my mouth and destroying fortresses isn't just demented. This supposedly-dressed-in-pure-white guy was a super psycho nurse!
Again, my chest tightened as I was getting all excited. I let out a heavy breath, I have got to calm down, but I can't. I want to show this Mr. Psycho nurse that Hyakuya Yuu wasn't someone to be messed with!
I cracked my knuckles.
It was around lunch time again, and the nurse was going to be here soon. Time to get ready and declare him to fight me!
Last time he had destroyed my fort, so I decided to find something that he couldn't crush down. Now I was wrapped with my white blanket. Everything was covered except my face. It was kind of funny too because it made me look like a standing albino burrito.
Err. Yeah.
Click
Mr. Nurse had entered the premises. His white leather shoes tapping against the ground as he stepped towards me. As I saw his figure, I felt my chest turning desperately as if there were gears rusting inside it.
It felt heavy, and it was making me uneasy. But I had brushed it off because I was more inclined to bothering my visitor.
Mr. Nurse had a tray in his hands and a glaring look on his face as per usual. His eyes were narrowed in annoyance, "What the hell are you supposed to be this time?"
"Heh!" I grinned with conceit. I took a deep breath, ready to shout at the top of my lungs.
"FIGHT-..." then suddenly, my chest clenched in the most painful manner. I couldn't feel myself breathing. It was as if my lungs were about to give out. My eyes shut, and I gripped my chest, dropping my head down.
I heard a tray being placed down on the table by my bed and footsteps tick-tacking on the floor.
"Hhhh...!" I wheezed. Then, a warm and gentle touch came upon my back and jaw.
I felt a hand gently lift my head up. It let go of my jaw and traveled to my chest. It caressed that area as if it were trying to soothe me. A soft voice spoke, "It's gonna be okay."
My eyes quickly opened, and like some miracle, my lungs felt a rush of oxygen passing through.
I took a glance of whoever was comforting me, and to my surprise, I saw the one person that had always been on my mind. His soft wavy blonde hair, eyes so blue that it reminded me of water, and skin so fair it could come close to snow.
Mika?....
Mika?!
I panicked for a moment, sitting up straight in a haste. My lungs must have felt like it was drowning from the sudden rush of air because when I sat up properly, I ended up coughing so much.
"I wouldn't fight you." I heard a familiar voice speak.
My vision became clear, and who I mistook as Mika was actually my good friend, Mr. Nurse.
"Eh?" I weakly said.
He was caressing my chest and back. Those gentle hands that helped me earlier were actually his...
A soft smile was put on Mr. Nurse's face. He let go of me and stood up properly, "I wouldn't fight you. I'd obviously lose since you're in such a strong state."
I blinked, wondering what he meant. He grabbed the tray with my food and carefully placed it on my lap. He smirked at me.
"Huh?!" I finally realized what he had meant. He was being sarcastic! Meaning he was making fun of me being weak right now!
I gritted my teeth, "Hey! How dare you make fun of me?!"
"Oh?" He said in a sarcastic tone, "What? I don't remember ridiculing you. In fact, I was praising you..." he tried to hold back a mocking chuckle? "...heh."
I gasped, pointing at me like the guilty bastard he was, "OBJECTION! What was that laugh just now? Y-you're obviously making fun of me!"
He crossed his arms, "Oh yeah? Where's your evidence?"
"That...!" I tried to fight back, but I couldn't find anything to say. He was right. I had no back up whatsoever. So I decided to stay put, crossing my arms and grumbling to myself.
Suddenly, I felt a pinch on my cheeks, "Heh."
My eyes looked upwards, taking a view of Mr. Nurse... who was strangely smiling at me.
It wasn't the kind of smile where he mocked or made fun of me. But it was the kind that looked like it was sincere. He seemed soft, gentle... I'm not sure... it was just different.
He took the tray from the table, and he gently moved it on my lap. I watched him slice up a piece of fish with a fork and a knife. Carefully, he raised the fork with the meat in front of me, "Eat up."
I ate the meat, and he repeated the same action as earlier. We both fell silent. I looked at him, "You're always calling me by my whole name. Why is that?"
"It's our policy." He prepared food on my spoon, "We were told it's to show respect to our patients."
I mocking grin came to my lips, "Tch. Respect?" I scoffed. "Was shoving a cup of medicine on my face... respect?"
His eyes narrowed, and he smiled with sadism, "Would you like me to do that for you once again?"
"NO!" I protested in a blink of an eye. Never ever again! I am never gonna have a cup thrown at me!
He smiled, "I thought so."
The conversation died afterward, and I finished up eating. Mr. Nurse gave me my medicine and prepared to go out.
As I stared at him, I just couldn't stop myself from thinking about his resemblance to Mika.
"Hey. Stop staring. Do you have a crush on me or something?" He spoke as our eyes met.
I violently shook my head, "What?! You're so c-conceited!" A warm feeling was on my face. He grew a smirk on his face, "then what?"
"I-I can't help but see how much you look like a friend of mine..."
"Oh?" He paused but quickly got back to finishing his clean up. "Well," he took the tray from the table, "My face isn't very common. Your friend must be very special."
"Ah..." I looked down on my lap.
I heard his footsteps going towards the door, and the knob clicking open. This made me look straight up and speaking.
Mr. Nurse stopped with the door ajar as he looked at me.
"Hey!" I called eagerly, "I-I never got your name." My cheeks went hot in embarrassment. It had made me seem like I was interested in him. In haste, I thought of an excuse to say, "I mean! Since you're gonna end up taking care of me for a while.... at least lemme know your name."
He blinked, looking surprised. A warm and gentle smile grew on his lips. His smile was close, if not, angelic. I couldn't help but hear my chest pound as I saw him smile.
"It's Mikaela."
