I gently placed my hand on the back of the weeping angel wrapped in my arms. I heard his soft cries filled with pain kept for so long. His shoulders and his breathing were trembling that I couldn't help but want to stop him from crying at some point. But I can't. I shouldn't. After all, he hid this anguish for too long... it's about time he let it all go. "Mika..." I softly said his name. I knew it wasn't normal for me to have called Mr. Nurse by that name, but after getting this far to discover his real identity, I couldn't help myself. For some strange reason, Mika had stopped crying. He stayed still in my arms in silence. It was so silent that I could even hear ourselves breathing, "Mi...ka?" "Yuu..." He quietly said. I was surprised by the sudden mention of my name. Usually, he'd call me by my full name 'Hyakuya Yuu' so I felt like there was something different about him at that moment. I kept quiet to see what was going to happen next. "Yuu... chan..." he spoke with a weak voice. I gasped, shocked by the what he said. It was how Mika used to call me back when we were little... that name that I had always thought was a pester. But it had slowly turned into something important to me. It was him. It was Mika. My eyes grew wide open in astonishment. "Mi...mika!" I instantly pulled away from our closeness so that I could see his face. My hands were holding on to his arms tightly. He had a shocked look on his face. A look that showed disbelief. "Yuu-chan..." He said it again with lips trembling. Tears filled his eyes for the infinite time, and his mouth formed a shape signaling an upcoming weep. "l...love..." Mika was trying to tell me something, and the thought of that made my chest jump. No, it made the beating accelerate like a runaway car. It made me wonder if Mika had finally remembered who I was. "I love..." he slowly spoke with a weak voice. Out of the blue, Mika had gasped. His hands hastily clenched onto his head, and pain developed in his expression. Mika whined in discomfort. I let go of his arms and patted his shoulder, "Mika? What's wrong?" "My head..." he grimaced in pain, " It's so painful, Yuu-chan." I had remembered the other day when Mika had attempted to kiss me. He had complained that his head was hurting too. Could this be the effect of him recovering his memories? "Yuu-chan..." Mika continued to call my name as his pain grew. In the years I had been fighting off punks, I was never conscious about healing wounds and recovering. I had no clue how I could help Mika. I was hopeless. Wasn't there any good way for me to help him? My chest pounded si fast. Everything around me turned silent as if time had stopped. Images of the past began to spin around my mind. Mika. 'Yuu-chan, do you know why those mothers kiss the heads of their children whenever they send them off to school?' I don't know, Mika... An image of Mika's pure and childish smile flashed before me. His gentle voice spoke in my head. 'It's to help those kids feel better. Kids are always scared or cry whenever their moms leave.' A... kiss? A hot sensation grew on my face, and sweat rolled down my forehead. But... this is Mika. I-I couldn't possibly do that to him, we're family. Besides, even if we weren't, the two of us are guys. There's no way we could do it. But Mika... he looked like he was suffering so much. His eyes were filled with tears, and his lips breathing out pained cries. He was begging for my help... What should I do...? "Yuu-chan..." he pleaded. I felt something pull at my heartstrings as he stared at me with those fragile eyes. Mika was hurting, and all I wanted was to soothe him of the pain. "Mika..." I whispered as I cupped his cheeks on my palms. I leaned towards him to subtract the distance between us. I could feel his shaky breath. It was warm. Mika, let me help you carry the burden that you've been bringing all these years. I am here. Our lips touched as I leaned forward. The moment this happened, Mika's pained state had vanished into thin air. His lips no longer trembled, his breathing had calmed down, and his weeping had ceased. Mika's body must have weakened because I had felt him lean on me, or rather, it was like he was resting. I held him in place, welcoming him in a warm embrace. Mika's lips were so soft like a feather. In all the years that I had known him, I never imagined our lips to lean against each other. But it was okay. I felt at ease because of it. It was as if all my years of being restless had ended. That I could finally be calm. Mika had so much power over me that even the smallest of things he does would have such a great impact on my life. He was my everything. I slowly pulled away so I could take a few breaths. I had thought that Mika was going to be okay, but as I let go, his eyes were still closed, and his head looking down. "Mika?" I shook him trying to see if he was okay. Mika hadn't respond. I was about to panic, but I had heard him breathing. Mika must have fainted out of shock or pain. His eyes showed marks of dry tears. Using the phone near my bed, I dialed the nurses' station and called for help. Mika needed to rest. A little while later, a male nurse came in, apologized for Mika, and took him out of my room. For the rest of the day, there was nothing but silence around me. I hadn't seen Mika afterward. I had decided to sleep the day away. There weren't any visitors anyway, and Mika was probably the only thing I looked forward to. The next day came with me waking up to a female nurse entering my room. Alongside with her was the doctor, Guren, and Shinoa. I sat up, looking at them. "Congratulations, Hyakuya Yuichiro! You'll be going home." The doctor said with a smile on his face. "Would it be alright if you stand and walk? It's to make sure that you can go home safe and sound." "Ah..." I agreed with no resistance and stood up from the bed. I took a few steps forward, circled around, and stopped to see what the doctor had to say. His face looked amazed, "Great!! Fantastic!" I looked at the window outside without bothering to listen to the doctor. I was preoccupied with thoughts of Mika. Where was he? "Uhm..." I interrupted the doctor who was talking to Guren, and looked at the female nurse, "Where did my previous nurse go?" "I'm sorry sir. Nurse Mika had decided to no longer be in service in this hospital." "What?" My eyes widened. Just when it was my last day, you decide to leave and not see me off?.... My chest felt tight, and I bit my lip. How was I supposed to find you...? Despair thundered down on me. I had thought my days would be brighter after the hospitalization. Mika was found alive and well. We would be able to live with each other again. But this sudden separation without a chance to speak. All hope abandoned me. "Let's hurry home, Yuu." Guren's voice rung in my ears, and I didn't say anything more. I felt lifeless, and I had no energy to react to any insults Guren would throw at me. I spent the day lying down on my bed with no plan to get up. The sky grew dark, and the city has slowly developed silence. Night had arrived. "Mika..." a tear flowed from my eyes. Was there really no way for me to find you now? I want to see you so badly... I want to hear your voice. Then suddenly, Guren had entered my room. I hadn't given the care to look at his direction and continued to stare aimlessly at the ceiling. "Oi. How long will you mope around? You've been on that bed the whole day." I didn't bother answering his comment. I wasn't in the mood for the usual bickering Guren and I would share. "Whatever. Oh, by the way, you left this bag with a teacup. I'll just put it on your ta-..." My eyes grew wide at what Guren stated. I had suddenly remembered the teacup that was given to me just a day ago. The one that Mika had given me. Without letting him finish, I lunged at Guren's direction to grab the bag. "Hey! What's the big idea!?" Guren scowled. Mika.. even if this isn't you... even if I wouldn't find you so easily because of this... It doesn't matter as long as I have a piece of you with me, and with this, I will find you. Guren must have gotten bored at my lack of response to his comments because he had left me abruptly. I didn't really give it much care as I was focused on the bag with Mika's present. I opened it and took the teacup. I raised it at eye level and observed its beauty. It was white, a pure color that reminded me of Mika who had no signs of malice whatsoever. Its designs were in the color of gold... it was almost similar to Mika's soft looking hair. This teacup was going to be a piece of him that stayed with me. I would cherish this forever. I just wish I could see him again... Damn it... Even if I could just call you... Wait... call...? A suddenly flashback of when I first saw the teacup came into my head. I remembered that it wasn't just the cup that wasn't inside it. Mika... Mika gave me his phone number! With haste, I rummaged through the bag. I found a small crumpled paper inside and opened it. It was the exact paper with the words 'fight me'. His number was properly placed there in black ink. I frantically looked left and right in search of my phone. I wasn't the type to use it, so I had no idea where it had last been placed. Damn it! Just when I need something, they decide to disappear on me. I opened drawers all over my room, checked the table and shelves. I even looked under my bed in case I had left it there. Damn it... damn it... Just when I had thought that everything was over, I glanced at my bed to find my phone resting oh so peacefully. In a dramatic and slow motion, I slapped my head feeling like a complete moron. The obvious places are the last things you check. Great going, dumbass. I took my phone out and typed Mika's digit on it. I hit call and placed the phone on my ear. With all my attention, I listened to the sound of my phone carefully. Ring Ring Ring With every ring that passed through my ears, my heart raced faster and faster. It was nerve-wracking. Mika hadn't answered his phone yet, and all this waiting was driving me insane. Ring Ring Ring It continued to ring for an eternity. I felt myself lose energy. Maybe Mika had given me the wrong number. But just when I had almost put down the phone, the nefarious ringing had died and was replaced by an angelic voice. "H... hello?" It was Mika's voice without a doubt. My chest thumped so hard with yearning. "Who is this..?" He spoke once again. "Mikaela! It's me!" I said. I had decided not to call him by Mika because it seemed like he would experience whenever I would say it. His fragile voice chirped slightly at the sound of my voice, "Hyakuya Yuu?" He called me by my whole name again. I guess that means he had forgotten his memories... He was back to being the nurse that took care of me. But regardless, I still held him as my Mika. "Yes! I'm already home." I said calmly. "Oh? That's great to hear! how's your leg?" He replied. "Doing good, thanks," I said cheerfully. Just the sound of his voice makes me feel so elated and light. Mika... I think I really... Heh... "Well, I'm still pretty hurt though. I mean, someone decided not to show up and never told me." I teased Mika. I heard his voice gasp in surprise. As he replied, his voice showed panic, "N-no! I didn't mean to! There were some uhm... complications here at home. I just..." "What are you talking about?" I tried to hold back a chuckle, "Why are you panicking?" His breath trembled a bit, "Ngh... I'm really sorry, Hyakuya Yuu." "It's okay..." My playful mood had developed into a serious one. Mika was finally talking to me. I had a grasp of how to find him. "You can compensate by letting me find you." "Well... I can't really go out" Mika said, "But I can give you my address via messaging so you can come to see me. Sounds good?" Yes. More than anything, Mika... let me see you. Mika's welcoming words had lifted my spirits up. He was really amazing at making me feel like I was on top of the world. "Yep. Better send it right away. I'll be there in a few!" I quickly announced. "What...?" Mika had said sounding like he was caught off guard. I didn't bother to reply as I heard him frantically saying things. I put down the call and placed my phone in my pocket. A wide smile grew on my lips. I walked over to my closet to find a change of clothes. My phone vibrated in my pocket as I slide myself inside a new shirt. I check the message and saw Mika's address. Without sparing another second, I ran out of the house to start my journey. Mika, I'm about to see you again.
