Summoning the summoner

It happened

Eric shot straight up from the couch as he shouted with excitement “WHAT DID YOU SAY?”

His mother straightened up and grabbed his hand and said “it looks like your powers have finally come in”

With this news Eric was ecstatic he couldn’t believe his ears. If his brother told him this he would immediately disregard it but because his mother and sister said it he believed them. He ran to the nearest mirror and sure enough he had a patch of brown hair. He was so excited that he took a look at his eyes in the reflection. Unfortunately they were still white but when he saw a tint of color he started to get excited. In order to fully use his powers his eye color needed to change but the color was so faint that it would be near impossible to do anything let alone call his first summon.

Eric walked back to the couch and sat with his family not including Kai who was still glaring at him from the top of the stairs.

“ So what now Eric? you’re still useless look at that pathetic small patch of brown on your hair and in the weirdest spot too. My hair was fully colored and so was penny’s hair. You just have a splotch on the front of your head ....”

Mother was enraged “KAI SUMMONER WHY DONT YOU JUST SHUT UP YOU ANNOYING BRAT! WHY CANT YOU JUST BE HAPPY FOR YOUR BROTHER?? WHAT HAPPENED YOU USED TO CARE SO MUCH ABOUT HIM BUT NOW ALL YOU DO IS BULLY HIM! YOU ARE GROUNDED UNTIL I SAY YOU AREN’T GET IN YOUR ROOM NOW! She roared.

Kai quickly cowered into his room. In actuality He loved his brother very much and felt regretful everytime he was a jerk to him but ever since his sister gained her abilities he saw how powerful she was that it scared him. Making him think what if Eric was even more powerful than she.. that would leave him as the weakest link in the family. So he on purposely constantly mocked his brother for being useless. Making sure that his brother had the lowest self esteem so that he wouldn’t be able to have any confidence in himself or his abilities if he even had any. But now finding out that His brother indeed had powers his fists started to clench it was only a matter of time before Eric’s abilities came in and they would find out how strong he really was and that was the day that Kai dreaded.

On the other side of the door Eric was beaming with joy and Penny was sitting next to him with a big smile as well. “So how do you feel brother you feel any different?

Eric replied “not really... how am I supposed to feel? Did you guys feel anything?” With this his father got up “welp its been a long day and I’m tired you guys have fun chatting” and with that he disappeared into the kitchen. His mother glared at him as he walked away. She looked at Eric with a gentle smile and explained “Son everyone has a different experience not everyone has the same feeling when it happens.”

Penny chimed in “when I have to summon Kitty I just have to mind link her and she comes running”

“Is there any like chant or mantra you have to recite or something to get them to come?” Eric asked. 

 “Son I think you watch too much tv” his mother chuckled “everyone’s power works differently you just have to figure out how you get them to come to you. There was a beginner’s summoner spell for people who have just received their abilities. His sister never needed as well as his brother. So his brother said.

I will tell you the spell tomorrow but first go take a bath and go to sleep you need to rest after getting that big bump on your head. 

Eric was so excited that he totally forgot that he had been hit earlier that day.

After his mother told him to get some rest he excitingly went to take a shower and went to lay down on his bed. He was so excited that he almost couldn’t sleep but within minutes he was out like a light. As he began to dream a voice in his head softly whispered “It happened”
