I'm awakened by a silent rustling and a shadow covering an area around me. I jolt up. There is a piece of fabric pulled almost up to my chest. I rub my eyes to clear the view. "Oh, you're awake." I blink three times to wink away the grogginess. Ugh, my back hurts. Caleb is standing in front of me, holding the other edge of the blanket. He looks as stunned as I am. I hold a hand out to his forehead to check the temperature. It is still high. "How are you feeling?" He mumbles, "Better," but the visuals don't align. I examine him. His skin is paler than normal.
