Twenty Two

"In comes the celebrity!" Paul cheers as I lazily stride into the workshop. Katie hisses at him, following me to the table I slumped. I ignore him, obviously not in the mood to argue. Thankfully, he got the message and shut up. The whole day, everyone (and I mean literally everyone, even the bus driver on my way to the university) was staring at my whole existence. The moment I stepped out of the apartment, to the time I got on the bus, in class, in the hallways, on my way to and from the faculty building, looks were thrown at me and I despised it to the bottom of my heart. Some are simply giving second glances, but most are blatantly gawking until I'm outside their line of sight. Like I'm a newly discovered species of frog! Well, in a sense, maybe. Except I'm not a frog, I'm "the girl".
