Brynn
I watched as Frynn put the fear of us into that man and smiled.
I also wanted to punch someone but between us two, one of us had to stay rational seeing that we had visitors in the city and we couldn't afford to be reckless when we hadn't even been crowned kings.
It was funny by the way. We were going to share both a kingdom and a mate though we hadn't told anyone but daisy about her.
I watched as Frynn knocked out his opponent but he didn't stop there. He followed the man to the ground and even the ref was unable to get him off.
I jumped into the arena and the ref moved aside when he saw me and I held my brother.
“That's enough. Calm down now. That's enough," I talked to him as I restrained him and slowly, the fight left him and he raised his head and looked at me.
I could see his eyes clear as he refocused on the real world again.
“Better?" I asked him and he nodded and then I helped him take off the boxing gloves and led him out of the arena.
The whole place was bursting with shouts with people wanting to see more of Frynn or me but we were done for the day.
We had a mate to take care of, guests to entertain though I wished that they would just go back to wherever they came from since the competitions were over and we also had to talk to our parents about Mia.
Dad had been the alpha of our pack for years and he probably would know where Mia was from.
I also hoped and prayed that she would start speaking to us soon.
It still hurt my heart seeing how she was hurting and it was all because of someone.
“Take a bath first. You stink," I told my brother as I threw a towel to him.
He was all sweaty and his pheromones were starting to smell and we couldn't have that in a pack that was full of werewolves.
As Fry was taking a bath, my phone rang and upon taking it out of my pocket, it was Daisy.
She was the one who was taking care of Mia and I picked without a second thought.
“She's not here," she said and I didn't know what she was talking about or my mind hadn't registered what she was saying.
"What? Who?” I asked and there was a second’s hesitation from the other end.
"Mia. She's missing. I fell asleep and when I woke up she wasn't here. I don't know where she went,” she said and I could hear the sniffs.
"DAISY!..." I shouted and then held myself.
“Daisy, find her! You better…” she hung up on me.
" She f*****g hung up on me!” I screamed as I hit the wall with my fist and the pain brought me back.
"What's wrong?" Fry asked as he wiped his hair and he was naked.
I looked at his face wondering how to tell him because I knew that he would explode.
“Dad wants us home. He said that we have to get measured for the clothes we will wear during the inauguration ceremony and we also have to prepare a speech," I said though I didn't know for how long I would hide the distress that was gnawing at my soul.
“Must it be today?" Fry asked and I nodded.
"It is in three days’ time, remember? So, we have to do it today.
Why don't we do this, you go home and meet dad and I will wait for you at the hospital,” it was an order and not a request.
He looked at me as if he could read me but I didn't say anything.
“Wasn't that Daisy who you were speaking to?" He asked me and I diverted my gaze as I picked his clothes from the locker and gave them to him.
“Yeah. She is the one who has told me that they are looking for us. Remember we could not tell anyone where we were,” she said and she was right.
We couldn't because dad would blow his top off if he found out.
“You look off? Are you sure that all is well?" Fry asked me and I forced myself to smile.
At that point, I was trying to convince myself more than him.
“Yeah, why wouldn't all be well? God before dad gets impatient and starts calling again. Will see you in a while at the hospital," I told him and threw the car jets at him. “Take the car, I will walk," I told him and he nodded and walked towards the parking lot.
When I was sure that he was out of sight, I changed halfway and jumped. I needed to get to the hospital soonest. That was the only thought ringing in my mind.
From where the underground fighting ring was to the hospital wasn't far and it took me less than five minutes to get to the hospital and I met Daisy at the lobby.
She was walking in circles and I could feel the fright and regret in her moves and the way her shoulders were drooping.
“Bry, I am so sorry. I swear I didn't think she would wake up that fast and…” she couldn't talk as she started shedding tears.
My first reaction was to shout at her and shake her and put the fear of heavens in her.
But then again, I thought, what would that help with? The only thing I could do was calm down and let her help.
“No worries. Any news?" I asked her and she shook her head.
“The security guys are still looking,” she said and I was happy that at least she had thought of asking them to look at the footage.
“Frynn should never know about this. You and I are going to look for Mia and bring her back. You will help me to convince her that we are not out to get her but to help her,” I said as I walked up the stairs taking four at a time and I could feel her behind me.
"I will do anything to make up for this. I am so sorry Bry. I never would have…”
"Stop apologising already and pull yourself together. In case Fry comes you have to behave as if everything is okay. I don't care how you do it or what lies you tell them. If Frynn knows that Mia is missing he's going to bring this hospital down,” I told her already at the door to the security room.
I opened it without knocking. This was my hospital anyway.
“Anything?" I asked the two guys who were reviewing the footage.
"Hello sir? The girl who was in the room that the princess gave us left to the hospital and ran towards the forest. Unfortunately, there are no security cameras in the forest.
But if our guess is right, she ran towards the sea,” one said and even before he could finish, I was already out the door.
“Should we split? It will be easier to find her that way," Daisy said and I turned to look at her.
“Look for who?" A deep voice asked behind me and we both span with my eyes almost popping out of their sockets at the sight of my twin.
“Frynn?" I called and Daisy hid behind me.
“Why do you look as if you have seen a ghost?" He asked me in a voice that told me I had been found.
“Didn’t you go home?” I asked him, masking my surprise.
"Why is she hiding behind you? What have you done, Daisy?” He asked, clearly ignoring my question.
"What happened, Brynn? Why are you both here and who is with Mia?” He asked me and I sighed in resignation.
He was already here and I could not hide the truth from him anymore.
"Daisy, go home and keep our parents busy until we get there. Make sure no one follows us,” I told her and she left as if her butt was on fire.
I knew that she was afraid of my brother when he got angry.
"Come with me. I will tell you as we go,” I told him and instead of taking the stairs I jumped out the window and he followed me.
"Mia is missing. We think she ran towards the sea. If I am not wrong she wants to try to kill herself again,” I said and I heard Fry curse beside me.
“What was Daisy doing?" Fry asked and I stopped and held him.
"She would have run away even if it was you or I watching over her if that was what she wanted," I told him and we started sniffing.
It wasn't long before we sniffed her and we followed the scent.
As we ran, I hoped and prayed that we wouldn't be too late.
None of us talked as we followed her scent.
It wasn't long before we heard a scream a several meters in front of us.
I panicked and lunged.
