Mia The silence in the grand chamber pressed down on me like a physical weight. I sat on the edge of the couch, hands clasped tightly in my lap, while the twins stood across from me like sentinels, broad shoulders, sharp jaws and eyes that pinned me as if they could see through every thought I tried to hide. Brynn’s gaze was colder than ice, Frynn’s was a storm barely leashed. Together, they were terrifying, too powerful, too in sync, too… mine. That thought made my chest squeeze painfully, and I shoved it down before it could betray me on my face. I was afraid of them, yes. No one with a beating heart could look at the twins when they were furious and not feel that primal chill. But somewhere deep inside, below the fear, was a certainty as steady as my own pulse: they would never hurt
