Chapter Eight

Noah

I've been standing in front of Lucy for 5 minutes already; she literally doesn't even know I'm here. She is so intently in her own world, working on homework and dancing to music in her seat. Her snacks are scattered around her.

Snagging a peach ring out of the bag, bringing her to jump in reaction to the movement. Looking at me she all but sends daggers at me. And it's like the saying if looks could kill and such.

"Noah! You almost gave me a bloody heart attack. Make a noise next time."

"I did. I cleared my throat a few times; said your name and even waved my hand in front of you. I've been standing here for 5 minutes and nothing has caught your attention. How the hell you have to good of concentration is beyond me. Ha"

"Yes, what a mystery. Now go away, I'm busy."

Shit what's with this cold shoulder of her's. I thought I had softened those walls of her's. I wanna ask if she is pmsing but I don't really have the desire to be murdered by her. And I can see her being more than willing to do the time to kill me for a comment like that.

I'm trying to read the expression on her face and in her body language to hopefully pick up on something unsaid, but her body language matches her words. I'm completely stumped, Lucy really has no desire to to be around me right now. Damn.

"Sure, but you'll be seeing me tonight. Jeff and I are kicking it." Winking at her I place a lazy smirk across my face. Watching as her eyes bulge; I walk away without giving her time to ask questions.

I don't want to show her that her dismissal effected me.

I know why it had effected me, but I wasn't ready to come to terms with the fact that I have feelings for her, just yet. Sure I'm a smooth talker, but I'm not a player and in fact I've only had two real girlfriends. I don't find messing with a girl's emotions to be fun. It's simply torturous to do something like that.

My main thing is I want to make sure she has feelings for me before I put myself out there. Then again I believe I will have a sure answer by Halloween, and I have a pretty good feeling about it too.
