Sarah's pov I held my breath in the storage room as footsteps approached. My hand gripped the small knife at my ankle, knowing it would be useless against three trained fighters but needing something to hold onto anyway. The footsteps stopped right outside the door. I could see Ryder's shadow through the crack and braced myself for discovery. "She's not back here," Ryder called out. "Must have left before we arrived."
