  What Daniel needed to finally accept that Deanna would not return had reached him in the form of a news story in the local newspaper.   That Sunday he had woken up and gone downstairs for breakfast as always. His children were going to their grandparents' house to visit Emma and spend the day with them and, for some reason, around 11 o'clock Beverly was already at the house. He did not care, he knew she was circling him, trying to find a gap through which to sneak into his life.
