Caradoch The theatre wasn't big, but it was dark. Dark enough that Thana couldn't see me looking at her, although she could probably feel my eyes roving over her face as she leant forward and watched the stage intently. I'd been worried about my choice of dates. After all, the opera wasn't exactly what a modern young woman would want to go and watch, but I had nothing to worry about. She was enraptured, her face slack, like she was caught up in a passionate embrace. It made me smile. This Thana wasn't so different to the one I had first fallen in love with. Not in the ways that mattered anyway. And something had happened in the car. Something wondrous. I had felt it and so had she, although she probably didn't know what it was.
