2292 Words

52 Retirement I was hungry the next morning. Sometime in the evening, I had woken, coming back to my senses. I never wanted to go through anything like that again. I knew King was out there and it gave me hope. Perhaps he would come and see me this morning. If it were morning. I stared up at the ceiling; the lights were as they always were. Nothing moved, everything looked dank and dreary. I wanted to go back online, just so I could talk to anyone. Even Samuel, who wasn’t real. I only knew it was morning, because the med-techs were switched off. The new morning crew would come and check to see if I were alive.
