24 Finding Meaning This was the best job I had ever had. Despite the boredom, it was a rest. I realized, because King had said as much, that King was in control of whatever job I had, or would have. Nothing wrong with that, but I wondered why it was no one had ever told me this. I suppose that since it didn’t matter, I wasn’t told. It was like that with Samuel. He couldn’t tell you things he didn’t know, because they didn’t matter. The job was good, but there were days where at the end of the day, I got up and my face hurt from twelve hours of non-stop smiling.
