Brian stepped out of his car. He was having to get up earlier and earlier on these days when he met 418, because the breakfasts were getting longer and longer. It was a puzzle to Brian. He had been assured that staff not only had no requirement for eating, but they had no desire and no capacity. But every time he met 418, the amount of food it ate was more and more. Staff were supposed to lose the concept of self and lose the concept of there being a real-world beyond the world that they saw online. Not only that, staff were supposed to be happy. Staff are supposed to like their lot in life and would choose nothing else if they had a choice in it.
