“There are many places you can go when you don’t have any money,” Samuel tried to say cheerfully. “Being in the street usually does not cost anything. You could tour various different cities or destinations without incurring any costs.”
I felt myself scrunching my face at the idea. Just wandering around, and I couldn’t go into any of the stores, amusements, and restaurants? What was the point? I couldn’t gamble, I couldn’t enjoy food, drink or other ingestibles. I couldn’t attend a show, I couldn’t go to the club. But I could wander around outside, thinking about all the things I couldn’t do. Yeah, that sounded like fun.
