We traveled a lot. For a woman who loved her Asian avatar, she certainly did like to tour Europe. Belinda loved the snow—I had never been much of a fan of snow—but she thought it was interesting. The sound of it crunching beneath your feet—if you went to the expensive places—you could even feel the snow crunching. I’ve never been one for cold, but Belinda found the cold fascinating. It made your skin feel like it was burning, but it was cold, odd, and if not for Belinda, I’d never have bothered to experience cold. Normally we would end up at a cafe and then a hotel where we would sleep the night and do what men and women do. In the morning I would wake and head off to work, keeping her in my messenger. We would chat throughout the day, and I would count the minutes until I was home again,
