Nick opened his eyes and blinked groggily. His head felt as if it had been knocked open by a brick. Everything hurts. He blinked again. “Hey.” Liam was perched on a chair, watching him. “Hey,” he managed to reply, his voice sounding cracked and unused. When he glanced out of the window, he saw that dusk was beginning to set. “Did you drug me?” All he remembered was drinking a glass of water Liam had put in his hands. “Kind of.” replied Liam. “I had to. You were on the verge of breaking down. And I had to move you to a different room. Damn, you're heavy.” Nick didn't say anything for a long time. Then he asked, “How is she?” “She woke up briefly and soon fell back asleep. I think she's alright now.” Although she hadn't said a word and it was too soon to know, her eyes had look clear
