"Are you alright?" Eva asked for the umpteenth time. She was watching me closely, with her brows thickened in confusion.
"Mm-hmm." I nodded, shutting my locker. It was a blatant lie, judging from how visibly doleful I looked. I avoided looking at her. She might see the tears slowly clouding my vision.
"Are you hurt?" Eva continued with her questions as we headed to our first class. "Is it Alpha Max? Did he do something to you?"
I shook my head. Tears had clogged my throat so it was hard to speak.
