Chapter 5: Obstacles To Handle

1411 Words
Allison could not help but wonder what was going on because she noticed that Noah and Jack were acting aloof and preoccupied. She made several attempts to discuss the matter with them, but they both dismissed her concerns and claimed that everything was in order. But Allison was sure that something was off, and she was eager to find out what the issue was and how it might be fixed. Allison's confrontation with Noah and Jack came after days of anxiety and anger on both of their parts. She demanded to know what was going on, and she refused to back down until they told her the honest answer. She insisted that they tell her the truth. Both Noah and Jack gave each other a glance before returning their attention to Allison. Noah expressed regret on behalf of the group to Allison. "It was not our intention to hide this information from you. On the other hand, another organization that is committed to safeguarding supernatural beings has approached us with an offer of assistance. They have made a proposition to us, which is that they will assist us in defeating the Dawn Hunters and their friends, but in exchange, we will have to perform labor for them." Allison was taken aback by this. She questioned with a tone of complete astonishment, "What do you mean, you have to work for them?" Jack let out a sigh. "They want us to join their group so that we may assist them in tracking down and eliminating any potential dangers to magical beings. They claim that this is the one and only way to put an end to the hunting once and for all." Allison was at a loss for words. She was completely dumbfounded by what she was currently being told. She responded with, "I do not understand." "I am confused as to why you did not notify me about this earlier. Why did not you ask for my opinion before moving forward?" Noah exhibited the guilty look. He remarked that we did not want to put an undue strain on you by telling you about it. "We were aware that you already had a lot going on, and we did not want to add to the pressure you were under. We were under the impression that we could handle everything on our own." Allison was in shock after making the shocking discovery. She could not believe that Noah and Jack had kept something of this nature from her, and she could not believe that they were even considering joining another organization. She found it hard to believe that they would do such a thing. She uttered those words with a tone of indignation in her voice, "I do not believe this." "You were supposed to bring this up to me in the first place. Because we operate as a unit, all of our choices are arrived at collectively. How could you possibly think about joining another organization when you have not even bothered to talk about it with me?" Both Noah and Jack gave each other a glance before returning their attention to Allison. Noah expressed regret on behalf of the group to Allison. "We had no intention of causing you any harm. Simply put, we believed that doing so would be beneficial to the squad." She spoke the words "I can not do this" while her voice shook. "I cannot be a part of a team in which the members conceal information from one another. It is impossible for me to be a part of a group that is willing to contemplate joining another organization without even consulting me about the possibility. I am so sorry, but I am unable to continue being a part of this." Allison slammed the door behind her as she walked out of the room, her eyes welling up with tears. She was aware that she needed to make a choice, and she was also aware that she could not continue to be a part of the team. She had always been dedicated to taking down the Dawn Hunters and their allies, but she was unable to accomplish it with a group that concealed information and was open to the possibility of joining another organization. Allison was unable to prevent herself from experiencing a sense of melancholy as she packed her belongings and prepared to go. She had never stopped considering Noah and Jack to be her most trusted allies, and the fact that things had turned out the way they did was incomprehensible to her. But she also knew that she had to follow her heart, and she could not continue to be a part of a group that was not dedicated to being open and honest. So she made the decision to leave. So it was with a heavy heart that Allison decided to part ways with the team and strike out on her own. She was well aware that the path that lay in front of her would not be an easy one; yet, she was confident in her ability to overcome any challenges that may arise. She was resolute in her goal to destroy the Dawn Hunters and their friends, regardless of the circumstances. And because she was so confident in her ability to succeed thanks to her hard work and her many accomplishments, she choose to join forces with other members of her own kind, a pack of wolves. She gathered her belongings with great care, making sure to bring along everything that would be necessary for her trip. She was well aware that the path that lay in front of her would not be an easy one; yet, she was confident in her ability to overcome any challenges that may arise. She took one last glance around the room before slinging her rucksack over her shoulder and making her way out the door. She was aware that she would be leaving a lot of memories and a lot of people behind, but at the same time, she was aware that she was prepared to move on to the next stage of her adventure. She inhaled deeply and straightened her shoulders as she stepped out into the brilliant sunshine. She was bidding farewell to the crew that she had worked with for such a significant amount of time, and she could not believe that things had come to this point. At the very least, she had a lot of insights, and she is not squandering any of her time. She gave Noah's office a rap on the door, and as soon as he opened it, she walked right in. When Noah looked up at her, his demeanor quickly changed for the worst. He apologized to Allison and said, "I am sorry." "I never intended to cause you any harm." Allison gave a small shake of her head. She responded by saying, "I know you didn't." "However, I cannot be a part of a team in which members conceal information from one another. I cannot be a part of a group that is willing to consider joining another organization without first discussing the possibility with the other members; doing so makes me feel like an outsider in the group. I am sorry, but I will not be able to stay any longer." Noah gave a mournful nod while his face remained expressionless. "I understand," he said. "I apologize for the fact that we were unable to make this happen. On the other hand, I hope that your travels go smoothly and without incident." Allison broke into a grin and extended her hand to shake Noah's hand. "Thank you," was the response she gave. "I appreciate your support. In addition, I want to wish both you and the team the very best of luck." After saying that, Allison walked out of Noah's office and out of the building. She was aware that she was going to have to say goodbye to a lot of people and a lot of memories, especially Noah and Jack, but she was also aware that she was prepared to move on to the next stage of her adventure. She began walking down the hallway, pausing along the way to bid farewell to Jack and the other members of the team. They all wished her the very best of luck, and she knew that the time she had spent with them would always be something that she would love.
