“Important errand? You were told to keep me safe”. Leah followed the two to the door, unable to look at Maha.
“They are here to keep you safe” Eight pointed at the men standing in neat rows all the way down the hallway outside the door.
“What? Who are they?” Leah was very sure that Allen never kept the guards outside and in the open like that.
“They came with me” she heard Maha speak up behind her.
“So you are going to leave me with random people…?”
“They are not random people” Seven gave a stiff smile and pointed at Maha.
Left alone with Maha again, Leah was at a loss about what to do or say. Earlier, she reprimanded everything he did, getting angry and nagging him all day before they separated. Why would he come back as if her words weren't hurtful enough?
