“I'm not stupid, Maverick”, Allen cut off Maverick without batting an eye.
There was a long silence after that. Maverick knew he was in the wrong for blaming Allen since he was the one who asked him to catch the Mulatto rats still hanging and waiting to get his sister.
He was also the one who left his sister in his care, knowing how dangerous Allen and his tactics were.
He also knew how difficult women could be, his sister especially. But he didn't expect that Allen would use such a method.
“ I won't be available for the next week or two.” Allen broke the silence.
“Why? Mulatto is still at large. He might be there in Yakas, and Leah…”
