I followed everyone up to the house, listening to them chat the whole way and commenting when appropriate. When we got inside I didn’t realize how cold I had been. My cheeks stung along with my fingertips. I rubbed my hands together as we all wandered into the kitchen to wash our hands. Harely finished first after a line had formed, with me at the end. When she finished she grabbed a pot out from the fridge and placed it on the stove.
“Leftovers!” Rea announced. Hayden and Rea groaned as Lee went to the pot to see what was there.
“Ooo, homemade chicken noodle. I’m game.” Harley frowned at the other two.
“You guys know the drill. We gotta eat all the leftovers to make room for all the Thanksgiving food.” Hayden licked his lips.
