After the incident between Carl and I, I cried myself to sleep. Goodness why couldn't he just forget about this mate thing for tonight and just follow his heart for once why.

I woke up with a sullen face but still took my bath, dressed up and was about going down stairs for breakfast when the scent hit me. He smells like raspberry and how much I prayed for it to be Carl but I was shocked to see Nathan after i traced the scent. My whole world collapsed and I could see the anger and hate for me in his eyes goodness this is where I'm being rejected.

"The goddess can't be this cruel to me he furiously stated.

"Mate i mutter because I was too shock to even regain my voice.

"Don't you dare for i can't and will never take you as my mate he spat.

"But. .....He cut in.

"No buts b***h cuz I already have someone i want for a mate someone more capable and more worthy to stand by side as the future Luna.

"You can't do that to me Nat I stated but he Pushed me to the wall pinning both my hands on both side damn I could feel his body burning with hate and rage then I was like why does he hate me this much.

"I've never liked you Kate and nobody can change that not even the stupid mate bond can do it so get that into your thick skull he spat and left.

I stood there and was like what just happen? Did I indirectly get rejected by my mate and why did the goddess decide to punish me with Nathan when she knows I'm in love with Carl why

"Don't feel sad maybe he was just too shock. He will come back to acknowledge us Mitch comforts me.

"I want Carl Mitch not him because he will never accept us. phew Mitch be ready for the worst I told her before using the back door to school because I do not want anyone finding out i cried.

I got to school and throughout the morning there was no sign of Carl which got me worried. Was I too hard on him last night goodness why is me turning 18 seems like a bad thing. one more class to lunch, I excused myself to use the ladies but then the scene some distance away from me made my heart break causing me to cry. I know I do not love Nathan but the mate bond is so strong reason why I'm feel hurt seeing him kissing the new girl who got transferred to our school today and from the gossips around, I heard Nathan was the one who wanted her here because she is his future Luna. I guess he felt my pain as he stopped kissing and looked around meeting my stare but he careless as he just ignore and continued being all lovey-dovy with her. frankly speaking she is an eye candy so any man will fall for her but then I remembered I needed to pee so I rushed to the wash room got myself free wash my hands and went for lunch without Carl which was really boring and lonely.

School was long over and I came back looked for Carl all over but couldn't see him so decided to ask Luna over lunch which was attending by three of us Nathan was no where in sight in fact he wasn't back from school.

"Mum where is Carl? asked after some few bites.

"Ummm....She was unable to say anything so Dad cut in.

"He traveled out of town.

Father's reply shocked me and I was like when did he start doing things like this and keeping it away from me ?

"Have you forgotten your slapped him Kate Mitch reminded me.

"But that was because I was pissed at that time and I swear I regret it I told her.

"Kate he is having an Alpha blood running in his system so tell me how do expect him to feel after hurting his pride like who will dare raise his hand at him? Mitch asked and that silence me.

"Father where did he say he was going to and when will he be back i asked.

"He just left a note to inform us he has travel so we do not know when he will return nor where he has gone to father replied

"Did you two fight again? Mum asked and I just lowered my head before nodding.

"Kathleen I do not know what has been going on between you two lately but have it in mind that Carl will never do anything to hurt you father assured me.

"And whatever he does I'm sure he is always thinking of you first before he does it mum added which left me at the verge of crying.

"Excuse me father, Mum I will head to my room I told them and left the dining.

"""I got to my room and the tears I've been holding poured out. I tried calling him several times but his phone was switched off never withstanding I sent him countless messages and I do not know if he will recieved it or not. I was still in tears when Nathan badged into my room startling me a little.

"What are you doing here I asked climbing down from my bed with my watery eyes.

"Weakling he mutters but I heard him and I got shocked when I realized what he is here to do.

"Please do not reject us it will wreck her I pleaded and it got him a little as i saw his eyes soften then he walked to me.

"I'm sorry Kate but I need someone stronger someone capable of ruling by my side he calmly told me.

"But I can learn and become stronger I insisted for Mitch's sake because I know it will break her

"I'm sorry he mutter still turning me down which made Mitch cry and it affected me as I start shading silent tears.

Mitch was in pains so I let out shrilling scream that could make one go deaf as the pain surged through our bones before jumping out my window leaving him there and running towards the woods. I could not transform because Mitch was weak and in so much pain so I struggled through the woods and when I couldn't take it anymore, I blacked out.

I woke up in an unfamiliar room with a familiar scent. I got up roaming around the room feeling much more better when then door suddenly opens revealing Mike and I was like how come.

"Finally you are awake he says coming into the room smiling.

"How did I get here Mike? I asked suprise.

"I found you knock out in the woods when I went for my night runs so I brought you here he replied.

"Thanks a lot Mike and nice room you got here I complimented.

"Thanks. Come sit already asked the cook to prepare breakfast for you and send here he says as I took the spot beside him on the couch.

"What happened to make you knock out for two days he says causing me to scream in shock.

"I was out for two f*****g days? I asked.

"Yes and I've not been to school during those two days because I was scared you will freak out when you get up and do not see me around says Mike.

"I didn't bring my phone with me gosh I'm sure mom and dad are worried.

"I guess so but what happened he asks again.

"I guess sooner or later you get the news but it's best if you hear it from me. My mate just rejected me I told him and I could see the shock on his face.

"Nathan I replied lowering my head.

"That's my girl. You will get a second chance mate or if not then you will have to choose a mate from rejected mates or mates who have lost their mates he informed me.

"I do not really care as long as he will accept me for who I am I will be okay i told Mike.

"What about Carl...has he seen his mate yet Mike asked.

"Nope and he doesn't even seems bother about it I replied sadly.

"Why are you sad again....Did Carl hurt you too he asked.

"It's the other way round Mike and because of that he left home without telling anyone where he is going to or when he will return. His phone is switched off I do not know what to do Mike I told him as tears silently run down my cheeks.

"Ssssssssssh it's okay come here. I've witnessed your relationship with Carl and I can tell he cares about you a lot so just give him some time to think things through. I'm sure he will come back okay Mike responded while hugging me.

"Thanks Mike. What would I've done if we had not been friends I asked smiling.

"Absolutely nothing. We both laughed at his reply. okay go freshen up your breakfast will soon be here he says and steps out of the room.

"Who would have thought Mike has this other side Wao I definitely never make a mistake in choosing my friends. After taking my bath, I had my breakfast and laid in bed all day watching movies. I do not want to go back now let me rest for few more days then I will head back to the mansion I'm sorry Dad, Mum.

I've been here for Five days now and trust me I'm enjoying every single bit of it all thanks to Mike for he is such a sweetheart too bad my heart already belongs to someone esle. And that some esle has a mate some where waiting for him Mitch chirped in.

It's been a week I return and during these past days, I've avoided Nathan like a plaque. I do my breakfasts, lunch, and dinner in my room but as for school we do see but I do not give it a possibility for us to have any encounter of any sort. By the way guys today Nathan will be officially crowned the Alpha so there is a huge preparation going on out there but I'm not interested that is why I've been in here since morning. Before I forget guys...Nathan's chosen mate Lilian has been living with us during this past days and I will say she isn't bad but I'm still asking myself what will equally happen to her mate.......guess he will get a second chance mate or the goddess will arrange someone else for him.

FOUR MONTHS LATER

"It's been four months since Carl left and as time went on, I learnt to live and go on without him. Mike and I become more close during this time and I spend basically all my time with him and most times I do a sleep over at his place because we had a lot of movie and game nights. Nathan still comes to school with his mate and they are as lovely as ever with Lilian still training female werewolves during her free period and I most comment she is good like very good though not as good as I am. Yes of course I'm supper good and I train everyday in my hidden training ground in the woods so I'm so fit. Apart from that mum and dad have been very supportive towards like they allow me do anything i want. I guess they still feel guilty for their son rejecting me though I've told them that it's not their fault so I guess it's their own way to make them feel less guilty. Right now Mike and I are on the roof top of our class room building having our lunch yea that's how close we are now and tonight it's game night so I'm sleeping over at Mike's.

His wolf is called Davis and he is big and beautiful with a white fur with little black dots all over its body and he likes me. Though Davis is big, he is not as big as Mitch.

He transformed into Davis I hoped on its back and we took off. Davis is quite fast and swift wooohoooo I screamed enjoying the night breeze

"Hi Dave I miss you i replied excitedly.

"I know and I miss you too. Hold on tight I wanna show you something he informed me.

He jumped into something like a cloud and came into a fairly tale land I don't know but it's a beautiful scenario.

"Wao Dave it's beautiful.

"I'm glad you like it. This is where I always come when I feel depressed but I haven't felt that since I met you and Gabrielle says Davis.

I got down from Dave who laid down and I did same resting my head on his soft fur while chatting and enjoying the serenity of this beautiful place. After what felt like an hour, he carried me and we headed back home cuz I was sleepy. I got home and was about going to bed when someone came out from the kitchen with flour all over him which startled me causing me to scream.

"I'm so sorry let me help I told him and was about helping him when he brought out the rest of the flour from behind and pour all of it on me I scream as he ran away. We did the cat and dog chase for God knows how long before we decided to go take a bath and go to bed.

Today I decided to be the bad ass me so i dressed up into the me they do not know. Mike had carried me a lot of times during this past four months shopping so I picked out this gorgeous out fit incase I'm sleeping over, i will not bother bringing clothes or anything except my phone. After my bath, I wore a white demi-short trouser, a white vase in take, yellow trouser bell matching it with a yellow jacket and a white tennis with yellow tripes. I had undid my hair, condition it, washed and dried it. Using this hair necessities do give me a perfect hair for my perfect outfit. After getting done with my hair, I did a light make up and apply my light pink lip gloss I love pink.

"Come on baby doll we're gonna be late Mike called out.

"I'm done coming.

I descended and I saw Mike making a call but seeing my new look made him a statue Hiihihihi can't help I'm normally a speck sorry ain't being c**k.

"Wao baby doll can we please not go school today let's hangout please he said dreamingly.

"Hahaha cut it off drama king. It's not the first time seeing this me so come on let's roll.

"And he was Dumb enough to reject you goodness i can't wait to see regrets in his eyes baby doll. His statement got us laughing again as he drove us to school.

We got to school and yes everyone was like Wao who is the new chick with Mike just few who were at the birthday knows its me. All the stares and wao talks got nothing on me cuz I was prepared for their reaction. We passed through the corridor to get books from our lockers and while at that, a girl I think she is called cassie walked to me.

"Kate you look gorgeous and I thought I will never see this side of you at school she said smiling.

"Thanks cassie but what part of me are you talking about I asked.

"This you I'm seeing right now. I was at your birthday party so I saw the you any ways it's like you and Carl decided to grace us today with your perfect looks.

"Excuse you Carl is here?

"Yes he came in this morning accompanied by another fine young man. Kate he has grown more handsome and more manly she squeal

"See you around bye she waved and left.

I stood there still trying to process the news of Carl being back after four months three weeks 5 freaking days.

"Baby doll are you okay Mike asked.

"Yea I am drama king let's go.

We walked to class and immediately we got in, the class went dead silent with all eyes on us. okay guys I forgot to tell you Mike's dressing was a little similar to mine the only difference was his white trouser was long Slim fit, tshirt was yellow jacket yellow and shoe is pure white so you see we were almost a two match. I looked around to see Nathan's shock filled eyes then I saw those eyes I've missed for four good months staring deep into my soul and cassie was right he has grown more manly and handsome then I my eyes shifted to the guy beside him and it hit me that the fine dude cassie was talking about was Carl's best friend Carlson. Wao when did he return from the states.

"Baby doll got two seats let's go he held my hand and we walked to the far corner end where our seats were located.

"We are gonna make waves today I told Mike laughing.

"We sure are already making waves baby doll. Did you see Carl he asked.

"Yes I answered flatly.

"Ain't you happy? ?

"Nope I feel anger not happiness drama king come on let's concentrate.

Throughout the class i could feel stares but two stood out and there were Nathan's and Carl's but I ignored it all. After attending all our morning classes, Mike and I got to the canteen bought our lunch and left. We were about climbing the stairs when Carlson called my name so I turned to see him coming our way with Carl.

"Long time no see Lil mama he greeted.

"It's been ages carlly welcome back.

"Thanks lil mama.

"Mike meet Carlson a family friend and Carlson this is Mike my best friend.

"Nice meeting you man. they exchange pleasantries and I could feel Carl staring at me with the please talk to me eyes but Yoo I'm not buying it.

"Once again welcome home Carlly Mike and I are going to have our lunch so I will see around yea....

"Sure see around lil mama.

"Mike and I left and continued to the roof top our usual lunch spot.

We got to our favourite spot and ate our lunch in silence before Mike decided to break the silence..

"Your mood has changed Baby doll Mike stated.

"I don't know why I'm feeling so much anger towards him I told him.

"We will always feel that way for people we care about so it's not strange he replied.

"I'm still hurting Mike and it's hard for me to accept he did not care to even give me a call during these four months. Actually when I was going through rejection, he was the only one I so wished will be there for me. I was already hurting from his departure then the rejection came in so you can now understand how much hurt i felt during that time. You were the last person I ever thought will be there for me but then it was you with me during my most vulnerable period and you are still here for me. Just imagine if I never had you and I was taken away by the wrong people when I lost consciousness in the woods I cried out heavily.

"Let it all out maybe that will make you feel better he says hugging me.

"Throughout my life he has always been there for me though mom and dad were there too but his role in my life was way more important. I guess I just got to use to him always being around and there for me, maybe I just expected so much from him reason why I'm feeling this hurt so I told myself I have to learn to adapt to not always having him around.

"Shhhhhhh Mike and I are here for you baby doll we won't leave you nor bail out on you ever.

"Thanks Davis and who let you out we both chuckle at my remark.
