A Warrior For A Mate

My transformation caused a lot of nuisance in school today and amongst all, the only thing that caught my attention is Carl's return. I know right......And trust me when I say I was so mad to the extend I couldn't feel any happiness after knowing he is back. Even when I saw him looking at me silently pleading I still didn't care because I'm still mad and I do not want to face him now. After my chat with Mike, we left for his place but I told him to give me some alone time in the woods and will meet him at home later. I was at the woods beside the lake lost in thoughts when I heard Carl calling out my name so I turned feeling shock to see him here.

"What are you doing here I asked coldly but my heart was beating so fast that I didn't understand because this is not the first time I'm seeing him and though my heart use to beat fast when ever he is around me in the past, it was never this loud and hard.

"I was taking a stroll he replied.

"Okay i will leave first i said but he blocked my path which came as a suprise.

"We have to talk Kate stop avoiding me he told me.

"Don't get too cocky Carl because I'm not avoiding you i don't just feel like talking to you I responded.

"I know I hurt you I'm sorry but I'm back to make up for what I did says Carl

"Good for you then I flatly responded

"Is that all you got to say he asks me.

"What else were you expecting me to say Carl Douglas i sarcastically asked.

"Don't give that attitude Kate I said I'm sorry he snap.

"Don't you dare snap at me Carl don't try it I warned glaring at him.

"He sighs. "I said I'm sorry for leaving and not replying your messages or calls but I have a reason why I was away for four months he repeated calmly.

"And I said good for you. See Carl if you are here to pick a fight with me please I'm not in the mood. I got to go Mike is waiting for me I told him.

"Wao that's some love you got for me there. Just four months of being away you already replaced me he says mockingly which landed him a dirty slap across his handsome face.

"Don't you dare mock my love for you Carl. Do and say whatever you want but do not call my love weak because it was you who left without a word and still never called or texted me back I furiously told him.

"And I said I'm sorry okay I'm sorry for being as ass I'm sorry for bailing out on you when you needed me the most but if you were in my shoes what would have done huh answer me? he asked yelling.

"What happened to talk it out huh what happened to that? You just left without a care and you even called mom and dad but never called me. Do you know how I was when you left of course no so please just stop already by the way I've learnt to live without I yelled.

"Wao so now you got another and I become useless to you right. ...so the reason you were with me was because you had no option Wao all of you ladies are the same. All of you are users and when the person is out of use you switch to the next target well done miss Kathleen Sormas he barked.

"How dare you say that about me you Jerk I hate you stay away from me I told him as my teas rolled down my cheeks before running away but he came after me and even though I was fast, he still caught up with me.

"I'm sorry i didn't mean it that way he pleaded holding me.

"Let me go you Jerk let me go I hate you let me go. I was making a fuss about it.

He shut me up with a kiss..... an aggressive kinda kiss. I struggled to push him away but it didn't work so i succumb to the kiss as i reciprocated it which later turned into passionate kiss. "He told me inbetween our kisses how he missed me, how he missed everything about me, Missed the way I look at him , missed my touches, my laughter and most especially my lips. We broke the kiss catching our breath while staring at each other

"Did you feel that.....nothing changed princess nothing.

"Tell me why do you want to lead me on why Carl?

"I'm not leading you on he replied still staring at me in the eye.

"What is it you feel towards me I asked again hoping to get a satisfactory answer but before he could reply, a lady appears calling his name as she makes her way to where we were standing.

"Nora what are you doing here and how did you find me he asked in an unpleasant tone.

"Carl i got transferred so I school here the girl called Nora replied.

"And where do you live he asked her.

"I live with my cousin. Guess we will be seeing each other often at school she said excitedly before her gaze drifted to me and i could feel the "I don't like you gaze" from her so I took that as my cue to leave.

"Mike is waiting for me see you around I told him.

"Princess we aren't done please wait for me tonight he pleaded.

"Sorry having a movie night at Mike's I informed him before leaving.

After my encounter with Carl, I couldn't help but touch my lips over and over again. It's been ages and seriously I missed his lips and I missed the feelings I get when ever he kisses and touches me but that doesn't mean he is forgiven because I do not know why I'm finding it difficult to forgive him.

"It's because you are scared he won't love you back Mitch chirped in smiling.

"Thanks for the reminder your highness my sarcastic reply made her laugh.

"I arrived at Mike's place and everything for the night was set. We had our normal movie night together but this time around Gabrielle was around so it was the three of us having a great time. Morning came so Mike had to drop Gabrielle at her own school before we drive to our own. School was Same same old s**t nothing new or should I say something new cuz I could see three other guys with Carl not forgetting the girl which made me wonder where he has been this four months and what he has been up to. Mike decided we take a walk in the school garden but then I snatched his lollipop running into the garden with him hot on my tail Hahahhahaha. After making him suffer a little, I surrendered giving him his lollipop before we collapsed on the cemented chair in the garden catching our breath.

"That was some sport there baby doll Mike said while still trying to catch his breath.

"I know right but I kinda feel relax and less sluggish after this I told him.

"Today I won't be home baby doll he informed me.

"Night at Gabby's??? I asked.

"Yea yea he replied.

"Okay cool cuz I was planning on going home today I told him.

"That's good cuz I do not have to feel I ditched you he says and we both laughed.

"I'm a little sweaty so I'm going to clean up. see in class drama king I told him before leaving.

I went to my locker, got a shirt, new undies and dashed into the lady's. I was done cleaning up when I met Nora washing her hands but I didn't care since we ain't friends. Was about leaving when she made a statement seeking for my attention so I stopped and turned facing her.

"So you are the Kathleen she commented.

"Excuse you I exclaimed rasing one of my brows.

"I heard you got rejected by your mate she mocked smiling.

"I'm sorry do I know you? I asked pretending to not know her.

"I'm Nora Carl's childhood friend she told me smiling like I care so I just roll my eyes. Hey b***h I do not f*****g care even If you are his lover that's was in my mind guys.

"You do care Mitch reminded me.

"Shut up Mitch I scolded.

"Okay.....so what has that got to do with me I asked still rasing one of my brows.

"Nothing just introducing myself and letting you know we will be seeing each other often she proudly stated. Wao I guess my life is going to be super interesting from now on.

"Sorry darling but I do not care okay i told her and walked away.

Wait is she trying to pick a fight with me because of Carl. ...Is she that stupid to fight over someone who is not even her mate like I mean who does that?

"Do not forget we were dumped for another so anything is possible Mitch chirped in.

"No matter what Mitch Carl will never reject his mate. Though he is not my favorite person right

now, I still know him that well to say he can't and will never reject his mate i confidently told her.

"Then don't you think we should move on because he is definitely not our mate and since you are this confident about him not rejecting his mate then it's needless still loving him says Mitch

"I really wish I could Mitch. Look at the way we still react when he kiss or touches us.....so tell me how and what to do to stop loving him and devil.

"I don't know she responded sighing.

"I thought as much. Let's just let things flow naturally okay...what ever happens in the future, we will fight through it together okay.....

"Okay she replied.

School for today is done so I headed home but before that I passed through the woods to set my mind at peace with its peaceful bliss. I was now on my way home from the woods when I came across someone and the face looks awfully familiar.

"What are you doing here I asked because I could sense he is not from our pack but he isn't a rogue either reason I asked calmly.

"I'm sorry but I'm visiting and I have permission from Alpha Nathan he replied.

"Ooh sorry i had no idea. so why are you parked outside here I asked a little nicer this time.

"I'm waiting for my escorts he replied smiling.

"Okay. I'm heading to the pack house so if it's okay with you, I can be your escort I told him smiling.

"Ooh that will be lovely please get in. We got into the and he drives towards the pack house or should I say the mansion.

"Ooh by the way I'm Arnold from the dark moon pack he told me and now I finally recognised the face and why it was familiar.

"Nice meeting Arnold. I'm Kathleen and part of the Alpha's family I introduced myself.

"Ooh so you are......He hesitated but I instantly got the memo.

"Don't bother I'm over it long time ago so the pain is gone I assured him.

"I'm sorry about that he apologies before we fell into silence.

We arrived at the mansion and I could see Nathan and his wife standing outside waiting to welcome Arnold. We got out from the car as Arnold greets both the Alpha and luna bowing his head.

"Please spare this formalities Arnold come on in its nice having you here he said smiling.

"Thanks man but I still need to do this when we aren't alone he told him.

"Okay okay that's fine he replied.

Its rare for me to see him smiling and he is more handsome when he smiles so that was me going off but was brought back when Arnold gave me a gentle tap on my shoulder. I looked and saw them looking at me then i looked at Arnold which he understood the gaze.

"He was asking how we met so I told him I just met you at the border he told me.

"Oooh. okay Arnold see you around I told him before leaving not giving a glance at Nathan.

I would have smiled at Lillian but guys lately I noticed changes in Lilian. Reason I'm saying so is because the Lilian I knew never calls me Kathleen and when she wants to talk to me, she feels shy and she is sweet at the same time. You know when she took my mate i was still hurting so I never liked being around her but she kept on trying to approach me.

flashback

"Can you leave me alone Lilian....You already have Nathan what esle do you want? I asked pissed off.

"I want you to forgive me Kate. I know I have sinned against and I can't sleep knowing I have destroyed someone's happiness she said.

"So why did you still accept him if you knew this i asked.

"I was selfish back then and I only thought of my happiness but after living here, I got to know you are a sweet person with a good heart. I was expecting you to fight and bully me or even do worst to me when I came here but you never did any rather you kept your distance and never talked bad about me or try to provoke me. I know how mates are possessive and how irrational they can be but you are different Kate. That got me speechless guys seriously.

"I don't hate you because I know love can make you blind towards others feelings and the truth is I do not love Nathan it was just the mate bond that was pulling us together. I could compromise and be with him if he didn't reject me and though I was hurt by the fact my own mate despises me, it doesn't change the fact that natural feelings for him doesn't exist in my heart.

"Wao I didn't expect you to say that Kate. So......Can you forgive me (us) for hurting you she asked pleading.

"Lilian you are a nice person so yes I forgive you i told her and she squeal hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back.

End of flashback

She doesn't like oranges but she began eating a lot of it lately and when Nathan asked, she said she doesn't hate them anymore. She goes to the gym before practice but now she doesn't go to the gym and her fighting style has changed in fact I've noticed a lot of changes so I could only come up with one conclusion. It's either something has posses her or this person with us is not Lilian. I will talk to Carl about it later i concluded as I got into my room. It was dinner time so everyone was seated at the dinning table. I sat beside mom while Dad and Nathan were both sitting at the head of the Table with their wives on their right hand side. Carl sat on Dad's left hand and while Carlson sat on Nathan's left hand side withbthe three guys and Arnold sitting inbetween us.

Dinner was quiet and only cutleries could be heard for a while before Dad broke the silence.

"It's nice having you back and joining us for dinner Katy says Dad.

"Yea Dad I've missed this so much it's good to be back i told him smiling.

"So Kat how is Mike doing and why didn't he come for dinner mom asked.

"Mom Mike had something to do that is why he isn't here with us i replied.

"What are shame. That young man is the catch wish I had another daughter to ship them up mom says sighing.

"Have forgotten we can't ship anyone up honey Dad reminded her.

"I know love. So Arnold how is your pack doing and what brings you Here mom asked.

"The pack is peaceful and it's been ages couple with that fact that I missed Nathan's wedding and coronation so I decided to make a visit today.

"That's good Dad praised.

"Have you met Kat Mom asked.

"Yes Mrs Douglas i did he replied and mom smiled.

"After dinner we should take a walk in the garden to catch up says Nathan.

"Sure Nathan I will Arnold replied.

We continued our meal with little chatting but I was concentrated on Lilian who has been so quiet when Mitch suddenly spoke.

"Kate she is not Lilian.

"I thought as much Mitch. Have you figured out who she is and where they are keeping Lilian I asked.

"No Kate I could only see her real face and she is a witch she replied.

"Only a powerful witch can take another's form so we need to be careful I told her.

"What are we going to do she asked.

"It's time Mitch but first we will put our anger for Carl aside for now since we have more pressing issue at hand okay....

"Okay.

After dinner, everyone went on to do their own thing while I made my way to my room to freshen up
