“Is everything alright?” Sarah asked, looking confused.
And Carl? He looked like a kid in a candy store. Too amused for my comfort. I stood there with my mouth open having just shouted ‘no’ at my new job in the middle of my first day.

“Uhhhh…” I laugh awkwardly, clearing my throat. “I just meant, Mr Kane must be very busy. I don’t want him to stress himself on my account.” I looked at Sarah with what I hoped was a reasonable smile. “He has been so helpful already. I’d feel terrible taking you away from your day.”
