Sebastian’s men were still waiting patiently outside our door by the time Kate and I finally came out with our bags. We hadn’t had much to pack. Well, I didn’t have much to pack.
Two years in that apartment, and we had managed to accumulate three suitcases, two of which belonged to Kate, four boxes, and a collection of shoes that belonged to Kate.
She had a shopping addiction even when she was as broke as hell.
“This is everything,” I told the taller of the two men and he looked at our stuff for a while, as if he didn’t believe that two women didn’t have many items.
Well, we were currently too broke to afford ourselves.
He didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he reached for the heaviest box while his colleague took the suitcases.
