Mr Kane finally looked away from Nathaniel and towards me. "Come with me," he said before leaving the conference room without waiting to see if I followed.
I hurried after him, matching his long strides as best as I could. The silence between us stretched the entire way back to the executive floor, and I couldn't help wondering if he was annoyed about something that happened during the meeting or if that was his normal expression.
Knowing Sebastian Kane, it was probably both.
The moment we stepped onto our floor, he stopped outside my office and turned to face me.
"You handled yourself well in there," he said and I blinked.
