I was in the middle of reviewing the reports of the employees nominated for promotions when the intercom buzzed.
“Mr. Kane, there’s a Hannah Williams here to see you.” Alessia’s voice came through and I paused.
Hannah Williams. I hadn’t seen her since the night my mother had practically ambushed me in my own living room with a ‘wife material’ from one of her friends.
I hoped telling her I wasn’t interested would have been enough to get her to leave me alone, but seeing that Hannah was in Kane Capital meant my mother had other ideas.
I thought about calling down and telling Alessia to send her away. It would be the easiest thing to do especially since Hannah didn’t have an appointment and I had a full afternoon ahead of me.
