Rayla was pulled from her thoughts as the car came to a smooth stop in front of a club she had never seen before. It wasn’t the kind of shady, dimly lit place she might have expected from Dan. Instead, it was surprisingly classy, with sleek, modern architecture and a glowing neon sign that gave it an upscale vibe. A few familiar faces from campus lingered near the entrance, laughing and chatting, which made Rayla let out a small sigh of relief. At least it wasn’t some sketchy, off-the-grid spot. Still, she turned to Dan, her voice cautious as she reminded him, “It’s a school night. I can’t get drunk.” Dan held up his hands in mock surrender, a playful smile tugging at his lips. “Hey, no pressure. You can drink Coke if you want. I just brought you here to have fun, nothing more. Promise.”
