Chapter 18: Magic is in the Air

Selene opens her cupboard the blue light emits through her fingers...

Selene: What's this...? It's glowing again...

Selene tries to control her magic but eventually ends up crashing the arts on the wall and making her room a mess.

Nivi calls Selene..... " What's the noise from your room... ?"

Selene: Nothing mom... I just dropped something...

Fairy Lara appears to see Selene....

Selene: How to make this stop ?

Fairy Lara: The more you panic..the more worse it becomes. Just relax and take a few deep breaths...

Selene slowly inhales and exhales to relax herself. Her lean fingers gets back to normal without any glow.

Fairy Lara: You shouldn't have walked out today. Professor Peter was just trying to help you. And he will teach you how to control those fingers, before you do some real damage.

Selene: I hope he can...!!

Selene and Fairy Lara meet the Professor ....

Selene: So you can help me.. ? (shows her fingers)

Peter: Yes... You have to learn on controlling your powers.

Selene: But how can that happen...?

Peter: You can eventually do it..... But don't say any word about magic to anyone.. either your parents, siblings or a friend...

Selene: But it's hard for me to keep it secret from them.

Peter: You have to...that's a better way...

Selene: But why should humans not know about magic...? Since how long this has been going...

Peter: In olden days, humans and magic went hand to hand.. Later, humans try to forbid the magic and banish the practioners. So magicians decided to keep it unknown to humans.

Selene: Oh...I see....

Professor Peter introduces Selene to the fairies and elves....

Peter: Today a new student is going to join us. She is Selene...

Fairy Sia: A human ...?

Peter: She is part human, part elf and part fairy...

Fairy Sia: A tri ling...!! How did it exactly happened?

Peter: It's not exactly clear..

Selene will decide whether she will join us..

Peter: Selene please take a seat....

Professor Peter starts to lecture ~

Last time we were discussing how to solve height in levitation spell.

Fairy Sia: Control the speed of levitation.

Two boys see a flying chair in the park, they couldn't approach to catch it ....

The magical chair lands in the library. Everyone's gaze ponders on the flying chair..

Peter: There is something you don't see everyday...

Selene: What's going on.. ?

Fairy Sia: This is a random magical outbreak..

Selene: Magic occurs randomly ..?

Fairy Lara: That's why it's called a magic.

Fairy Sia: Whenever one occurs, the Department of Magical Intervention sends out an alert.

Professor Peter brings a magical book and says... I thought, I could recognize it...

Peter: Behold the throne of Kai Kavus...

Kai Kavus was a Persian King from the First Millenium, who build a flying throne so that he could travel around his kingdom. The throne, supposedly crashed in China, but was never found. Seems, it's finally turned up.

Elf Jack : So let's bring the sucker down.

Peter: I beg your pardon.. ?

Elf Jack: The chair could be dangerous, but now it's only like level one threat.

Fairy Sia: Jack is correct. It poses minimal risks to human and basic magic skills will contain on it.

Elf Jack: I am pretty sure, we can handle it..

Peter chuckles and says.. I don't think so....

Elf Jack: You are always saying that the true test of our abilities won't be found in the library.

Elf Abbe: And that we need to learn how to work together.

Fairy Lara: Some of us more than others....!!

Elf Abbe: Heh..(frowns)

Peter: So, you listen when it suits you...Why I am not surprised.. So you want a test ? You got it.. Seniors only....

Fairy Lara: Professor ...?

Peter: I will inform the department.

Elf Jack: So how do we deal with it ?

Fairy Sia: First course of action is to formulate a strategy. Department protocol mentions the primary concern is the public safety. After that it's the containment ...

Elf Abbe uses her magical power to locate the chair...

Elf Jack and Fairy Lara join too...

Elf Jack: It's flying over there..

Elf Abbe: I got it... "uses her fingers" .... Lara jumps in...

Fairy Lara: First we need to stop it escaping from the park.

Elf Abbe: Cast a confinement spell.

Elf Jack: And let you claim the glory...? I don't think so... We are supposed to develop our team work.

Fairy Lara: When we catch it, what are you going to put in it ?

Elf Abbie: We dont have a container.

Elf Abbie returns to the library to get the containment vessel.

Peter: I think you need a container. Get the chair directly fly over it and it will be drawn inside.

Selene: Can I come and watch ?

Elf Abbe: No... We are taking real risks to keep the humans safe.

Selene: So I would like to help.

Selene uses her magic to go with Elf Abbe to the park.

The chair flies all over the garden.

Fairy Lara says.. we have to lower the container to trap the chair into it.

But all of them fail to trap the flying chair in a containment.

Selene gets the container from Fairy Lara and aims at the magical chair to trap it inside the containment. She then closes the lid of the container.

Fairy Sia: How was Selene able to trap the chair ?

Elf Abbe: She was just lucky to do that....

Peter: You all need more training to perform a team work. I appreciate Selene for her efforts to keep up the secret of our magic.

Selene: I felt it was the right thing to do.. Professor..

Peter: It was.... I thought you never liked magic...?

Selene: It's not like that ... I just have to keep my powers under control.

Peter: For that you have to attend the class regularly.

Selene says.. I'm in.. with a cheerful smile..

Selene: I won't let you down professor.... !!

Selene being a vampire and witch wasn't fully capable of doing her magic. Now she got a chance to learn the magic and to control her powers. Selene feels overwhelmed to mastery the magic performed by fairies and elves. Selene feels her class like a Lala (dream) land packed with all magic stuffs.
