Jennifer glanced at Emily’s still-flat stomach, her gaze cold. Emily, panicking, instinctively placed her hands over her abdomen. "What are you trying to do?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"I have an idea," Jennifer said icily. "Once the baby’s further along, you can get an amniocentesis to confirm the paternity with a DNA test. That’s the only way to provide real proof."
Emily clutched her belly, horrified at the thought. "You want me to undergo a procedure that could hurt the baby?"
Jennifer replied sharply, "Then tell me, how else do you expect the Tyler family to believe that the baby you’re carrying is Alexander’s and not someone else’s?"
