Chapter 26: RelivingJANINA’S TURTLENECK WAS BLACK. Her jeans were black. Her shoes and socks were black. And she had even painted her fingernails black with some nail polish she’d borrowed from Raven. Janina‘s hair was parted in the middle and pulled back into a tight bun. She sat at the table with Devante, about to have breakfast, not sure how many more times she’d get to do this. But before she ate her cereal, she folded her hands and bowed her head in a silent prayer. No one had ever seemed to notice her doing this countless times before, but Devante did.
“While you’re at it, pray for me,” he said. “The session I’m having with Lutkin today has got me buggin’ out.”
