A car pulled up unexpectedly. The windows rolled down. Gunshots erupted from the vehicle without warning or reason. All Devante could do was scream. He was sitting up in bed now, his shirt drenched with sweat. Where am I? This was not his room. He was dizzy. He curled up into a ball and squeezed his eyes shut, trying to hold on to himself, trying not to let the darkness of this unknown room consume him.
