Two hours later we were walking down the hall to meet up with Neveah and some guy that she meant at a party. Sean and the kid I still didn't know he name talking about something when I mouthed Neveah that I was going to kill her for this. She smiled and then mouthed something that I couldn't make out.
Walking to my locker I started not to feel good. Moving my hand away from Sean and then lead up against the cold locker and tried to get my bearings back Sean hand was on my forehead. “Nora you're burning up you okay.”
“Umm, yeah I think so.”
“Neveah come here. Feel her head.” Dancing over to where I was she placed her hand at the top of my head.
“Nora what happening to you.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that ever sense you got back you haven't really been the same.”
“Neveah!” Sean looked at her. “Shut up.”
“No it's fine. I know that I have.”
“Is there something that you're not telling us?”
“Like what? That I was brain washed and they did a lot of bad things to me? Well they didn't, the only thing that they did was hit me around. And scared me for life. And now I have cuts all over my arms that will never ever go away. But for the black outs... well I don't know about those.”
“Wait.” Sean looked back to me. “You're saying that you've been having these a lot?”
“Not really, I mean, I blacked out last week after you left my house.”
“And one just now.”
The guy that Neveah was now calling her boyfriend walked up from behind her.
“Hi, I'm John.”
“Hi, John.”
“So, I know you don't really know me and I shouldn't be getting into your past but have you seen a doctor about all this?”
“No. No doctor.”
“Maybe, his right Nora. Maybe you need to go see a doctor.”
“Why, so they can say that I'm crazy are need help.”
“You're not crazy and you don't need help. And if you do then you have Sean and me. And maybe ever John.” I looked at Neveah and smiled the best I come.
“I love you guys so much.”
“Awa we love you to.”
She looked around in the hall that now had no one but us. “Are you okay to go to class?”
“Yeah I'm fine.”
Walking through the door to Mrs. Antoinette's she was helping a kid. I sated down in a deck. Opening my math and working on it.
The whole class acted like I was never late, they didn't look at me. I like that no one looked. At my locker I could hear Neveah and John come up. “Hey Nora how was class.”
“It was good.”
“That's good.”
“I guess.”
“So can you come Friday night?”
“Maybe.”
Closing my locker I turned and started walked.
“Wait Nora what do you mean maybe.”
“I mean I don't know yet.”
“Oh okay well if you do just tell Sean.”
“Okay.” I walked into English. Sitting down. Outside the window clouds began to roll in, and within forty minutes I was in my next class watching it down right poring.
“Miss Anderson.”
When I looked back to the front of the class everyone was looking.
“Yes?”
“Can you answer the question please?”
“No.”
“No what?”
“No sir I can’t the question.”
“And why is that Miss Anderson?”
“Because sir I didn't hear it.”
“Okay class can everyone help her out.”
For kids raised their hands. After class we all went to lunch. It was still raining hard so the lunchroom was packed.
“Sean, do you think that we can go to your house after school.” He looked over at me.
“Sure.”
“Thank you.”
“Are you feeling okay?”
“Yes I just need to be around people.”
“Okay Ill text my mom and ask.”
To more classes to go. Looking down at my food that I haven't touched I pushed it away and looked back up at Neveah. She smiled before getting up and not only taking her plant but mine to. I watched as she walked all the way to the other side. On her way back she stopped by the snake bar and ordered an apple and bar of I think dry fruits. Back at the table she sat it in front of me. I took the apple and bet into it. She smiled and then took the locket around my neck into her hands. Opening it and then looking over at Sean.
