Chapter 1

1844 Words
I was walking home from a long, boring day at school. My cell phone started vibrating my back pocket, but I just ignored it. It was probably Landon, my best friend from school. It vibrated about ten times before i took it out and hit the end call, then immediately turned it off so i didn’t have to listen to it the whole way home. When it was off I shoved it in the tiny purse my mom gave me eight years ago.                While I was putting it away, I bumped into something, something very hard and warm. I fell on my butt. While trying to collect my thoughts I looked up to see a dark figure standing in front of me looking down with its hand held in front of it.         I got a good look to see a guy offering his hand to me. I took his hand and pulled myself up with the stranger's help. When I was up, I looked up, and into his eyes to see there was a hint of worry in them.      ‘Would you like me to take you home?” The guy said when he noticed I hadn't let his hand.     “Uh, no, no, i can get it from here.” I pulled away from him and stumbled when he let go.     “Yeah, I think I am taking you home. Now where do you live?”          “No, it’s ok I got it this time I swear.” I heard him breathe a sigh.      “Well at least let me walk with you for a little bit just to make sure.”      We walked to an almost empty parking lot. There was only one car in view, that I could see. It was a 2008 red mustang, just like the one Landon owned. It had the same tinted windows, the same white mustang painted on the drivers side and the same black scratch I put on it with my nail when I was walking past it. Landon was so prissed at me when I did that, he ended up not talking to me for a week or so. Anyways, the strange guy walked past me to the all familiar car.     “Well thanks.. um?” I just gave him a blank stare looking for an answer to my already awkward question.         “Rider, Rider Grey.”     “Well thank you Rider Grey.” I did a half curtsy and walked away.     “Wait are you sure you don’t want me to give you a ride? I’m sure Landon would want you to get a ride.”     “Wait, what? How do you know Landon? I never said anything about Landon or even knowing him.” I stared Rider down, giving him a dirty look.      “He’s my cousin and asked me to keep an eye out for you. Just get in the car and i’ll explain everything.”      I half willingly went to the car. Rider was holding the door open for me like a true gentleman. Now you don’t see that from guys my age anymore.     Rider got in the car, turned it on just enough for the radio to come on. The radio was on full blast making me cover my ears. I leaned forward to turn it down, when my hand hit something warm. I pulled back and looked at the guy. He was just now pulling his hand away from the stereo. He had turned it down low enough that I could barely hear what song was playing.     “Ok, so……. Why are you doing this for me? You know no one else would have. They would have let me run into them and then be on their merry little way.”  I looked at the guy taking me home. “Ok so why do you have my friend's car?” All these questions were just falling out of my mouth before I could even stop to think. “And…”     “Would you stop asking me so many questions. I will answer one at a time. The first question I cannot answer right now. I have Landons’ car so I could run some errands.” Rider looked at me through the corner of his eyes.      “Yeah, ok? I’ve never seen you with him at all and I’m with him like 24/7.” I looked at that hot guy that called himself Rider, Rider Grey.     “He’s my older cousin and I’m here for a week, then I’m gone.” He looked at me with eyes that looked to be hiding a secret. “Now, can I ask you a question or two?”     “I guess so.”     “Ok, good. Now how old are you like 16, 17?”     “16? Why?”     “Oh, no. I’m asking questions here. Would you ever let me see you again after tonight?”     “Well I do need a ride to work and then after work. So yeah i guess.”      “That’s good, because Landon said he needed someone to watch you while he’s gone. So can I take you somewhere tomorrow after you get off work?”     “Yeah, I guess so. It is a Friday night tomorrow and my step mom and my dad will be gone ‘till Sunday, so yeah i would love that. Wait what did you mean by 'Landon said he needed someone to watch me while he’s gone.’ How long is he leaving me for? He never leaves without telling me first! What the f**k!” I pulled out my phone, turned it on, waited for it to turn itself on, then dialed Landons’ cell number. It rang a couple times, then Landon answered with a “Hello? B? Is that you?”     “Yes, stupid it’s me. Now why didn’t you tell me your super hot cousin was in town and you were leaving me here in this stupid, fuckin’, dump we call our home town?”     “Because, you weren’t going to listen to me at all today, so I tried calling you, but you weren’t answering your phone, so I gave up and sent Rider after you.”     “How old is he? And how long are you going to be gone? Ah, you make me so mad, but you know I love you.”     “He’s 17, just about 3 and a half months younger than me. I wish i was only going to be gone for a week, but it’s only a week and a half. Yes, I know, I love you too. But I also know you’re going to love Rider just as you love me. Hey, maybe even more than you love me. Ha ha. Now I have to go. I will miss you like crazy girly. Kisses, bye bye babe. See you soon.”     “Bye.” I hung up with Landon then smiled at Rider hoping he didn’t hear that I called him super hot. Hey, he is with his long black hair eating his face, them tight black skinny jeans, that white shirt with letters that spelled out Black Veil Brides. Those baby blue eyes and that crazily crooked smile. “So…. Now are you going to take me home or what?”         “No. I’m just going to sit here hoping for you to crawl over this thing.” He was pointing at the thing that sits in the middle of the front seats, “and kiss me so I don’t have to lean over it and kiss you.” He looked at me then smiled that crooked smile that made me blush.     “Are you serious, because I’m not going to do that i hope you know. We just met and I barely know you.”     “Oh, I’m dead serious. I hope you know that, because it’s either you kiss me or i’m going to kiss you then take you home and stay with you all night.”         “Jeez, kid. I’m not one of those girls that’s going to kiss a guy when the guy wants it, but when i want a kiss. So you’re going to have to back me into a corner and kiss me or we're not leaving. I’m not going to kiss you ‘till i want a kiss.”         “That’s good, because that’s how i like my girls. Pushy, yet sweet.” He smiled at me and started to lean towards me.     “I hope you know i can easily open the door, crawl out and run home.”     “Yeah, i know. That’s why I locked the door and have you in my grasp.” He locked the doors and was pulling me over the seats into the back. He had me laying down in about one point five seconds. It was so scary, because i wasn’t able to move without him moving me. He was leaning over me trying to kiss me, but he was not succeeding very well. Every time he’d try to kiss me I would move my head before he could get close to my face. Every time I’d move my head, he would get even more frustrated with me ‘till he finally took my face in his hands and held me there. I tried to move, but couldn’t.     “What, not so tough now are ya?” He’d meant that as a rhetorical question. Rider wasn’t putting all his weight on me, so I could get my arms loose. I took my hands and placed them on his arms and pushed, but there was no use, he was stronger than me. I tried moving my body to get loose, but still it was no hope for me moving from under his hands. So I just gave up and let him kiss me for about a minute or two. He finally let me go.      “Jeez, kid you’re a good kisser. How many girlfriends have you had?’     “None. Why?”     “Because, you're such a good kisser and all so.”     “So what?”     “What would you say if I said kiss me again?”     “I wouldn’t say anything. I would simply do this.” He said leaning down to kiss me again. It was only a minute before he pulled away again, and looked in my eyes with a question in his.     “What?” I asked with wonder in my voice.     “Oh, nothing.” He looked away from me then crawled over the front seat into the drivers seat. “Brooklyn?”     “Yes?” I said pulling myself up through the middle of the front seats.     “Would you consider going out with….” Rider cut himself off before finishing the question.     “You? Heck yes!” I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek and pulled away to see his reaction to my answer.     “So does that mean you will go out with me?”     “Hell yes. I don’t see how no girl wouldn’t want to go out with a guy like you. You're sweet, smoking hot, a little pushy though, everything a girl like me would want.” I looked out of the corner of my eye to see what he was doing. To me it looked like he was just looking out the window thinking about something. “Hey, Rider?”     “Yeah?” He looked at me with those baby blue eyes and that crooked smile.     “Can you take me home now?” I looked at that kid sitting in the drivers seat looking at me.     “Yeah, i guess so.” He nodded and smiled a sad smile.
