You Have Him

The next two days went by so slowly. I hung out with Mads a lot in between classes and at lunch. Lilly was almost always chatting with Mark and Max. Tonight was Marks' birthday and I wanted to try and make a good impression on the boys. I was always a bit of a flirt, even though I am extremely shy at first. And even though I'm a flirt, I'm still a virgin, you don't have to be a completely good girl to be a virgin. I take a quick shower and head over to my closet. I skim through my clothes and pick out my favorite black leggings with a long flowy low cut shirt. I grab a jacket and head over to Marks' place.

Everyone has the same kind of room, all big and fancy, almost like having your own little studio. Marks' room is more like one bedroom. He has one separate room, like a one-bedroom apartment almost without a kitchen. The first room is like a living room and there is a long couch and a loveseat with a huge flat screen TV. Then the other room is his bedroom and it is huge with a king-sized bed and a desk with a gaming computer all set up somewhat nicely.

I get to Marks place and Mads opens the door without me knocking. Apparently, there is physics at the party. I looked around, realizing when they said small they meant a small party. Everyone was in the living room on the couch watching the boys play video games. There was pizza, chips and soda on a table in the corner. I didn't really bring a present as I hadn't known them very long to know what he would want.

On the couch, I see Mark and Max sitting on either side of Lilly as usual, and two other guys that I'd seen at lunch before. I go sit on the couch near Mads. Me, Mads and Lilly are the only girls here, so we go to the other room and start talking. Lilly is talking to Mads about how both boys keep flirting with her and how much she likes both of them.

"Mads, I don't know what to do. For the past, I don't know how many years, I can never seem to choose between the two of them.

"Well, which one tries the most?" Mads asks as I just sit in the corner looking at some books on Marks' desk.

"I don't know they both try equally, I guess."

"Well, I know that my brother likes you a lot, I can just tell and I've always thought of you like a sister," they continued on. I started thinking as well. I think they are both pretty cute too. I can see how it would be hard to choose, but I figure if I'm to ever have a chance with either one of them, I had better say something now.

"Well, I kind of think Max is cute." I pipped up after a short pause in their conversation. They both looked at me a little shocked. Making me wish I hadn't said anything.

"Really?" Lilly asked me, a bit shocked and excited. I slowly nodded my head, yes. "Oh my god! That's so great that it makes my decision so much easier. And I kind of think I've always liked Mark a bit more than Max."

"Omg that's so great you can be my actual sister" Mads said excitedly. They both looked at me as my emotion changed from nervous and stressed to relaxed. They both gasped. "Wow, your eyes just changed from dark red to almost black to light blue!" I looked at her surprised.

"Yeah, it's one of my gifts" I said sheepishly as I ran my hand through my hair.

"What is the other?" Lilly questioned.

"I... Uh... I can read minds" I said, looking at the floor.

"No way that is way cool" Mads says cheerfully. Lilly kind of eyes me.

"So you can hear our thoughts right now?" she said, curious.

"No, I can read minds when I want to. So you don't worry, I don't invade anyone's privacy." I tried to ease her mind. "What are your gifts?"

"Well, like your eyes, my nails can change color but I can control them most of the time. I also have fire manipulation." Mads says, showing me her nails and crating a ball of fire in her hands.

"I have water manipulation and flower manipulation", Lilly says. "They kind of go hand in hand. It's great." she smiles. "I think we should tell Max how you feel about him."

"What now?" I said nervously. I'm sure my eyes are bright red now.

"Yeah! You just sit tight and I'll go get him", she says, and exits swiftly.

"I am sorry she is doing this to you. I would be totally mortified," she says. I guess it is because of my eyes.

"Yeah it is nerve racking" I said, sitting in the corner of the room as Lilly and Max sat by the door with Mads. They start making small talk with him and I just observe their body language. I contemplate reading their minds. I decide against it, thinking I might not like what I hear. I can see that Max has all his attention on Lilly. Mads looks at him then looks back at me. Lilly is just asking him about the party out there before she hits him with the hard questions.

"So Max, do you think I'm pretty?" she says, eyeing him.

"Uh... Yeah..." he says, looking down at his hands, his hair hiding his face, but I can tell he is blushing by the way his hands are fidgeting.

"What about Mads? Is she pretty?"

"I guess so... I mean she is my best friend's little sister", he said, looking up at Lilly.

"How about Sage? Is she pretty?" he looks over at me for a second, then looks back at Lilly.

"Yeah.. sure" I blushed a little and looked down at the floor.

"Do you think she is beautiful?"

"Why?" he says nervously. Oh god he probably doesn't like me, great he is going to think I'm a total weirdo and made Lilly ask him these questions.

"Would you ever date her?"

"I don't know why you are asking me these questions?" he was getting really agitated and a little frustrated, staring at Lilly. Should I listen to his thoughts... Probably not like I said. I probably wont like what I hear.

"That's it. You can go now", Lilly said, and he looked at her, then me, then Mads. Before getting up and leaving the room, "Omg he is totally into you."

"You think?" I said, walking over to them and sitting down.

"Yes totally. I'm probably leaving campus for a little bit soon but you two should totally get together."

"I don't know, I don't think he wants to date me..."

"Here, give me a second" she said, walking out of the room. Mads and I exchange looks, wondering what she is doing. When she returns, she asks for my phone and I give it to her. She messes with it for a minute before giving it back.

"What did you do?" I said, looking at my phone.

"I added Max to your phone. Your welcome". She said "Also, the boys are going to sleep out there while the girls sleep here."

"Cool, are they all still awake?" I ask and she nods and starts talking to Mads. I get up and walk out to the living room and see Max sitting near the edge of the couch. I go and sit next to him trying not to be too obvious. I noticed Mark looking at us from the corner of his eye. Whereas Max doesn't even look at me, just continues to watch the screen. All three boys are lying out getting ready for bed and I lean back on the couch, causing me to get a bit closer to Max. He mumbles a hey to me.

"Hey, so how do you like the party?"

"Its good" he says, now he is looking at me as he talks.

"So sorry about earlier when Lilly was bombarding you with questions."

"Its alright she can be like that sometimes" he looks down "so um.. did she get you my number?"

"Yeah" I say shyly.

"Cool". He looks away and gets comfy for bed. I tried to get comfortable too, but after a while, I realized there wasn't enough room and got up and headed to the other room and sleep.
