"Follow me, Miss," Rylee said with a warm smile. I nodded, and she began to lead the way, with me closely following behind.
As we walked, I noticed people staring at me and whispering to one another. I wondered what they were saying until Rylee suddenly spoke up.
"Don't mind those people whispering; they're always gossiping. And don't get too close to them—it can be dangerous," Rylee warned. Her words only heightened my curiosity. It seemed there was a lot I needed to learn about this werewolf pack, but they weren't making it easy for me.
"Why would it be dangerous for me? Is there anything I should know to stay safe?" I asked, hoping Rylee would provide the answers I sought. However, she remained tight-lipped.
"I'm sorry, Miss. I'm not in a position to share anything with you, only to caution you to be careful around the other werewolves," Rylee said.
I sighed sadly at her words. I hoped that their secrets would keep me safe, as I really didn't want to die just yet.
I could no longer appreciate the stunning furniture inside the house; my mind was clouded with worry and fear.
The people continued to murmur among themselves until Rylee led me out of sight. I couldn't help but wonder if werewolves also gossiped like humans, and I scoffed at the thought.
"We're here, Miss," Rylee said as we reached a door. She opened it for me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I didn't deserve this kind of special treatment. After all, I was just an ordinary girl from my hometown, and it felt awkward to receive such attention from werewolves.
"Please come in, Miss," Rylee said, and as I stepped inside, a gasp escaped my lips.
The room was stunning, filled with elegant furniture and luxurious items I had never seen before. I couldn't believe I would be staying in such a beautiful space, complete with a large bed.
"Don't you like it? I can take you to another room," Rylee said, misinterpreting my gasp as a sign of disapproval. She walked closer to my side, and I quickly shook my head.
"Of course not! I love this room; I was just shocked that a place like this exists," I quickly replied, and I noticed Rylee nodding with a smile.
There was something about her smile that made me feel comfortable, unlike Alpha Gael, who intimidated me as a werewolf. Rylee's smile and voice made her seem more like a normal human being than a werewolf.
She looked innocent and beautiful, and I never imagined a werewolf could be this stunning. I had always thought they would look scary, but they're proving me wrong. This made me want to ask her the question on my mind, even though I wasn't sure if she would give me an answer.
"You can freshen up; your food will be here any moment. I'll assign a maid to take care of your needs, so I'll be leaving now, Miss," Rylee said with a slight bow. I couldn't help but wonder if she was actually a maid or who she really was, but that wasn't the most pressing question at the moment—I could ask her that later.
"Wait, I want to ask you something," I said, and Rylee turned back to me.
"Yes, Miss," she replied softly.
"I want to ask you if you know anything about the humans who were here before and died. Could you please explain what killed them?" I finally voiced the disturbing question that had been on my mind. As soon as I finished speaking, Rylee's eyes widened in shock.
"I can't discuss this with you, Miss. I'm sorry, but I have to go," Rylee said, her voice trembling. Before I could say anything more, she rushed out of the room, fear etched on her face.
"There's definitely something fishy about the human who died here," I mumbled, anxiety etched on my face. I promised myself I would uncover whatever they were hiding about humans who died here because I couldn't afford to meet the same fate.
"I can't escape from Cyrus and then walk into another danger here," I muttered as I headed toward the bathroom to freshen up. I was already feeling hungry—maybe even my baby was too. After eating, I would figure out a way to sort everything out, and that's when I could finally have peace of mind.

I had freshened up and eaten an hour ago, leaving me alone in the big room. I rolled around on my bed, feeling bored. Back in my hometown, I was used to being busy with work, but now I found myself wide awake with nowhere to go.
I never thought I could feel this bored. I asked Rylee and the maid she assigned to stay with me for a while, but unfortunately, they said they had somewhere to be tonight. They also relayed a message from Alpha Gael, warning me not to go out under any circumstances tonight. Deep down, though, I knew he couldn't control me. I would do what I wanted, and if I felt like going out, I would.
I decided to check my phone, hoping to alleviate my boredom, but I was met with a barrage of messages from Cyrus. "Is he crazy? Why is he so desperate for me to get an abortion?" I mumbled in disbelief as I read through the texts.
"Why are you ignoring my texts and calls?
Have you gotten that thing out of your stomach? If you don't, I swear you're going to regret it.
I've been knocking on your door for hours now, but you're still not opening. What the hell!"
"Open the damn door right now!"
There were countless text messages from Cyrus, but I could only read a few before I dropped my phone and got out of bed.
"I'll make sure he regrets everything he said and did to me and my baby," I mumbled, determination etched on my face. At the same time, I felt a wave of sadness wash over me; Cyrus didn't seem to care at all about his baby and even wanted an abortion.
Even after Alpha Gael's warnings, I stepped out of my room, unable to stay inside any longer. I knew that if I did, I'd only end up dwelling on what Cyrus had done to me. I decided to get some fresh air outside, but I would do my best to avoid the werewolves.
As I walked through the corridor, the once bustling noise of people had faded into an eerie silence, making it feel as though I was the only one in the house.
"What the heck is going on?" I mumbled to myself, fear creeping in. Just then, I heard a distant roar; I didn't even know where it was coming from.
"Oh my goodness, is this why they warned me not to come outside?" I asked myself, trembling as the roar grew louder. In a panic, I decided to rush back to my room to protect myself and avoid any danger, but...
I had only taken two steps when a roar erupted behind me, and my world came to a sudden halt, my body engulfed in fear.
"Aaaahhhhhhh!"
