Chapter 4

(Joakim's Pov)

What exactly is happening in the Drewdrop Pack? We are having setbacks. I don't seem to understand the challenge.

I pushed my room door open, behold there lay Chelsea on my bed with another man having fun with her.

"What?!" I yelled.

The young man rushed and escaped from my room. Chelsea acted as if nothing happened.

"Has it gotten to this? Bringing men into my own room, without fear and respect?" My eyes were widened because I don't know what gave her that guts.

"If you don't like it, then change the kind of bed in my room. I am your Luna, I am supposed to have a big bed too"

I felt like strangling her at this point. She was not even remorseful.

"I really regret the day I chose you as my mate. I never knew that you can be doing this to me"

"Excuse me!" She snorted, brushed her shoulder against mine as she walked away leaving my bed scattered.

I turned around slowly as she slammed the door so hard. I was already reaching my breaking point. I scratched my hair with my fingers angrily, scattering them.

"Ahhhhhh!! What have I done? Why can't I have a peaceful marriage?"

"You can't because you rejected your mate" my wolf snarled.

I felt terribly hurt because I could remember how I treated my mate. Jealousy trooped into my heart as I remembered that another Alpha marked her and she got pregnant.

If I had accepted her, all these would not be happening to me.

I will have to go and see the Moon Goddess to know if something can be done because ambit stands, nobody knows her whereabouts.

I was about to leave when Chelsea asked, "Where are you going dressed like this? Am I not supposed to follow you as your Luna?"

I stared into the air without saying a word and left her. I felt disgusted talking to her and I don't want to have anything to do with her till I find my mate.

"Why are you here?" The Moon Goddess asked. Her voice trembled in my heart.

"I am here for you to help me" bending my head in shame.

"You have to find your mate wherever she is. That is your punishment for rejecting her when she was at your reach and of course, she will soon be in danger"

The last statement sent cold chills down my spine. I don't know if I should start the search immediately or not.

"If anything happens to her, then you will have nobody to save you from the disaster that awaits you"

I quickly ran back to my pack only to meet my best friend having an affair with Chelsea. This act made me weak. I thought my best friend was supposed to stand by me. Why was he sharing what I have?

I shut the door slowly because Chelsea can't be controlled anymore. I have lost every interest I had on her. She used to be that lovely lady I once loved but everything about her looks soured to me.

I also regretted locking Amber in my Dungeon. The advice came from Chelsea. I never knew I was hurting myself. What do I do now?

Suddenly, Derek ran up to me and told me that a rival pack was coming for an attack, and so we needed to prepare.

I remembered the words of the Moon Goddess. Was this disaster coming for me? I quickly assembled the whole pack members and informed them about the rival pack.

Everyone got prepared and waited for them till night. I transformed into my wolf form to be able to scent when attackers are near.

It was a very long night with so much fight. The attack ended the next morning. I was slightly injured. When I transformed back to my human form, I was in so much pain.

I used a clean towel with warm water to clean the affected area. "Joakim, the rival pack really reduced our pack members" Derek said, panting.

"How?" I stood up

He pointed outside. I followed him outside and the number of people I saw as my pack members were very discouraging. If nothing is done, we will become the weakest pack.

Some were killed while some were taken to belong to the rival pack. I was speechless. Everyone was looking at me to know my next decision but I walked inside my room, walking slowly from one end of the room to another with my hands folded at my back.

"You are such a weakling! How could you allow another rival pack to take away some of your members? Soon, this pack will become weak. This is not the reason I accepted you!"

"Chelsea, will you shut up! When have you suddenly become a nagging woman?" Her attitude is beginning to piss me off.

"Oh! I am nagging right?" She shouted, making sure she brought her mouth closer to my ear.

I was tempted to push her but I clenched my fist and hit it on the wall. "Can you allow me to think!" I yelled with my mouth wide open as if I was going to devour her.

She became a little bit scared and walked away stamping her foot so hard on the ground like a child.

I have a lot on my head to think but Chelsea is making everything difficult for me. I am supposed to have a woman that is understanding and wise, that will help me in this trial times but what do I get?

"A nagging Luna" I sighed.

I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I knew that was Derek.

"Come in"

"Alpha Joakim, what is the next plan? Some members of the pack are threatening to leave if there is no solution"

Chelsea walked in immediately and began her troubles. "I knew it! I regret ever coming to this Pack. Once a strong pack is now a weak pack"

"s**t! Can you shut up!" I screamed with my hands covering my ears.

"Karien is about to take over the Drewdrop pack" Derek blurted.

I widened my eyes in shock, "Karien! No!!!"
