“Oh my God,” Rose gaped at the sight of Lyra and clutched her clothes by the side of the desk.
Tristan turned his back to see his girlfriend standing by the door with tears in her eyes. He slowly moved away from Rose and ducked himself in some clothes.
He ran his fingers through his black curly hair, “What are you doing here, Lyra?” Tristan narrowed his brows at her.
Lyra clenched her fist tightly and sneered at Rose.
‘Is that what you have to say to me, Tristan? I just caught your cheating ass with that b***h over there.” Lyra snapped with a frown on her face.
“Well, I didn't mean for you to find out this way, but since you're here, I guess I don't have to hide it anymore,” Tristan gazed deeply into Rose's eyes and ran his fingers through her black curly long hair, “I love Rose, Lyra.”
Lyra felt bitterness in her throat hearing Tristan say those words, she clenched her fist tightly, he wasn't even feeling any remorse.
“You scumbag, that's my sister. Anyone but my sister,” she snapped. “How long have you been cheating on me?”
“Half-sister,” Rose smirked and ran her fingers through Tristan's broad chest.
“Doesn't matter anymore, I'm glad you know about our relationship now. Lyra, I'm breaking up with you. Rose is having my baby.” Tristan turned to Rose and rubbed her belly with a warm smile on his face.
Lyra could feel her heart pounding against her chest, her eyes widened in disbelief, she could feel her head spinning. Lyra curled towards the door by the side and held it for support.
“How long have you been together?” Lyra asked, a cold glare formed in her eyes.
“What does it matter, sister?” Rose rolled her eyes in disgust and planted a kiss on Tristan's lips. “He loves me, Lyra, not you.”
“Mmm,” Lyra scoffed and sniffled, “How long have you been cheating on me, you monsters? Lyra screamed at the top of her voice.
“One year,” Tristan said slowly with his head raised.
“One-one year,” Lyra stuttered. “All this time you've been unavailable was because of her,” Lyra laughed uncontrollably and sniffled. “Three years of relationship, and this is what I get?” She pointed at Rose and scoffed.
“You know what? I think you're a perfect match. A scum boyfriend and a slut girlfriend.”
“How dare you,” Rose snapped and raised her hand to slap her across the face but Lyra held it and tossed her to the side.
“You can have each other,” Lyra said out in disgust and left the office.
Outside the reception hall, Lyra shot Tracy a fierce look and she gulped down her saliva nervously. Lyra clenched her fist tightly and left the premises.
Lyra was back at the office looking like a mess. She tried to hold back her tears and made her way to her office desk.
A masculine hand slammed on her desk and an authoritative voice hung in the air, “In my office, young lady.”
Lyra gulped down her saliva nervously and raised her head, she locked eyes with her boss Mr. Clement, and a surge of fear flushed through her body. With those eyes void of warmth, she could tell she was in big trouble.
Lyra nodded and followed in his tracks.
“Shut the door behind you,” Mr. Clement sat majestically on his office chair and interlocked his fingers, leaning on his desk. “Now, make me understand this. Why the hell was your desk empty?”
Lyra gulped down her saliva nervously, “I'm so sorry sir, my-my, ” she stammered.
“You are what?” Mr. Clement slammed his fist on the desk, making her jolt in fear.
Lyra burst into tears and confusion flushed Mr. Clements face. What the hell is going on?
“My sister, sir, she's dying. I got a call from the hospital earlier, I'm so sorry I left without permission,” Lyra sobbed and moved closer to her boss.
“I was hoping I could get assistance from you, sir,” Lyra had a pleading look on her face. “Can I get a loan from you, sir? I promise I'll pay you back. I'll work for free as long as you want.” Lyra knelt before her boss and held onto the helm of his clothes.
Mr. Clement narrowed his brows at her and changed positions, he cleared his throat and loosened his tie, “Here you go,” he slid an envelope on the desk and averted his gaze.
Lyra sniffled and a surge of relief flushed through her, she gazed at the envelope on the desk with so much hope in her eyes, her hands fluttered slightly as she reached for the envelope. The content came into view and her eyes widened in shock.
“This can't be true, sir. You're firing me?” Lyra's hand trembled and the piece of paper slipped. “Sir, please I need this job. My sister is dying, I need the money to save her,” hot tears flowed down her cheeks freely.
“What do you think this place is? A charity organization? I don't care to know about your sister, leave my office and make sure you clear out your desk and report to the HR department.” A scowl formed on his face.
“Please I'll do anything, just this once, sir, please I need this job,” Lyra sobbed greatly, kneeling before her boss.
Mr. Clement tossed her to the side and straightened his suit, he moved closer to the door, opened it, and shot her a cold look, “Out,” his cold voice hung in the air.
Lyra stood up and sniffled with her gaze low with no hope for the future. She gazed pitifully at her boss but his expression was void of warmth. Now what? She needed to keep her job to take care of Lily but now, her job is no more. She left the office looking pale from all the crying. Everyone felt pity for her as she made her way to the HR department.

The day went by so fast and Lyra went visiting late at night. She pushed the door to Lily’s ward slowly and in an instant, tears welled up her eyes seeing her sister miserable on the bed. Lily's pale face melted her heart and she tilted her head backward, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall.
Lily, who was asleep the whole time, shifted on her bed and yawned softly. Her eyes opened and a small smile escaped her lips at the sight of her older sister.
“Come here, sis,” Lily stretched her hand towards Lyra.
Lyra sat on the chair closer to the bed and leaned her head on it, “You don't deserve this,” she sobbed slightly. “You don't deserve a sister like me. I'm completely useless.”
Lily palmed her sister's hair and patted her on the back, “Everything is going to be fine sweetheart,” her faint voice echoed through the room.
