She went into the bedroom. She was there half an hour. She found nothing. Guelvada, she thought, had possibly underestimated his man. Then, as a final gesture, she went into the bathroom; snapped on a light. On the glass shelf before the shaving mirror, Kiernan's toilet articles were arranged in orderly fashion. At one end was the razor stand with a safety razor, a brush and soap. Something caught her eye. She walked over to the shelf; picked up the printed account form which rested against the mirror behind the razor stand. It was obvious that Kiernan had propped the account against the mirror to examine it whilst he was shaving. Antoinette thought that it could be important.
